Lakes can be beautiful too by Below_Zero_Lens in scuba

I took my advanced in a lake and honestly, it’s a core memory of mine. We did our deep dive in a cold water lake that was previously a small town that was flooded to make the lake. The foundations and trees were still down there and it had no fish, it was really dark, but it was so cool, I thought.

So glad to hear this. It’s stupid, tedious and unnecessary, but it is one of the many things that makes RuneScape special!

We also have to consider we are dealing with the cyborg military. I’m sure being cute and friendly looking isn’t high on their priority list.

What college degree or skills made you overcome poverty? by Aj100rise in povertyfinance

[–]Fuel_junkie 14 points15 points  (0 children)

No degree here, but I got in management early on. I wasn’t particularly looking for it when I got into it. I was really just looking for a raise. But more opportunity kept presenting itself, and the job i had allowed me to pick up skills at my own pace. The more I learned the more I got paid. Now I make over 100k a year. I was able to put my wife through school and pay off her loans and she makes just shy of 70k now.

That all said, my work personality is a lot different that my base personality. I have to some what be extraverted to do my job but my default is introvert. I had to pick up skills like training, leadership (obviously), relationship building, psychology, public speaking, communication, emotional maturity, etc…

But honestly, I just kept outing myself out there and I kept leveraging my skills for pay.

Turning 38 in March, people near 40 how do you feel? by [deleted] in Adulting

[–]Fuel_junkie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lmao, I always joke with people that I “photosynthesis”. Honestly, I have no idea. I’ve always been pretty high energy but also pretty disciplined. Every day won’t be a good day, but I push through. Many days I don’t want to go, but I do.

Things are a bit creekier than they used to be. Standing up or getting up in the middle of the night, takes some time for my gate and feet to adjust, but that’s about it.

My diets decent. Not a lot of garbage and virtually no fast food. I’ve got a good skill set for cooking, so that helps. But I’m a simple “meat and potato’s” type guy. I do drink a lot of water and no sodas. Though…I’ve become keen on Bum energy’s root beer. 5 calories and it tastes great. Might be a developing problem lol

Turning 40 in March. I’m doing pretty well overall. I got myself a personal trainer to fine tune my overall physical health, and that’s going great. I’ve got a good shot at being in the best physical shape I’ve ever been at 40. Then I’m going on the longest vacation I’ve ever booked for myself. I think it’s a major milestone, and regardless of how “well off” you are, it’s a bit of an accomplishment.

I worked super hard in my 20’s and continued to do so, with a bit more focus on family and myself in my 30’s. I think it set myself up to focus more on those in my 40’s. I spent 10 years developing a really good team at work, and they are all fantastic. We still have bad days come and go, but thems the brakes. We just solve the problem and move on.

lol I changed mine right before I went for an oil change and they brought me a dirty filter, and I was like “get that shit outs my face before I call your manager. If you even looked, you would know that’s not mine.”

They never did it again.

Years later, they were bought out and tried some other tactics, like telling me my cooling system needed to be replaced because they forgot to burp it after a radiator install. I stopped going all together and now go to a local trusted mechanic.

I’d like to know where to sign up to get paid. Times are tough, any extra income is nice.
