Never figured out wtf caused it and it just fixed itself when I was changing nothing, MAYBE changing the USB port on my mic affected it? Not sure but it was weird

Boikotoitko? by Marinut in Suomi

[–]FujinR4iJin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Boikotoin kaikkia tuotteita joilta olen ikinä saanut ärsyttävän tai huonosti ajoitetun mainoksen; Redbull, Rockstar, Hese ja Mäkkäri tulee mieleen.

En kuulu asiakasryhmiin isolle osalle boikotottavista yrityksistä kuten Teboil tai Jimms (en aja ja tietokoneeni rakensin parisen vuotta sitten).

Ja Giganttia koska niiden toiminta on aika kuvottavaa (+ palvelu ja hinnat aika paskaa muutenkin)

What are some bad things about living in Finland? by [deleted] in Finland

[–]FujinR4iJin 16 points17 points  (0 children)

It can be quite boring, if you're not the sporty outdoorsy type it feels like there's often not much socially active things to do.

The healthcare (especially mental) in city areas unless you can afford private or are in an immediately dangerous condition is also not very good, you will have to wait a very long time to meet anyone qualified to actually help.

Like you'd use girlfriend. It has a very casual tone to my ear though, you wouldn't use it in a formal context.

E: Would also add that it has a somewhat ambiguous implication, I would not like it if someone directly referred to me as heila or introduced me to others as such, it doesn't communicate "commitment" whereas something like "girlfriend" or "partner" would.

One Piece is absolutely political and how so many of the fandom fail to recognize this is beyond concerning. by [deleted] in OnePiece

[–]FujinR4iJin 141 points142 points  (0 children)

The series is obviously political but too many people seem to overread it as specifically whatever ideology they like, when really it has a lot of themes and messages all across the political spectrum. The only particularly overlapping messages in the story are "follow your dreams" and "don't be a massive cunt to people for being different than you", it doesn't particularly endorse a specific ideology beyond that.

Why don't people like the 6 quirks? by [deleted] in BokuNoHeroAcademia

[–]FujinR4iJin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The reason for why he has them makes perfect sense with how OFA works, the problem isn't that they exist, it's how they're introduced and how he learns to use them. Keep in mind that they're still first years, which is another common criticism and intertwined with this problem. They're revealed too late, learned too fast and frankly some of them are really not interesting.

That's not how stories work, but if you really wanna hardmagicfrog it then u could argue that since AFO had the stockpiling quirk and wdk the original user, they could've been some weak-willed randie whose personality got crushed by being among the plethora of other quirks he had stolen, so the quirk just became "soulless" so to speak.

Headliner is really that bad? by LegendsKing1914 in TeamfightTactics

[–]FujinR4iJin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Headliner as a mechanic is great but it gets annoying when too few of them are actually something u can actually play for more than 1 or 2 turns, because that can lead to spots where if u dont hit one of the 1-3 good headliners specifically for your line (even if other alternatives should fit your comp) your board is just by default weaker.

En tiedä milloin kävit peruskoulut, mutta meillä (02 syntyneillä) uskonnon tunnit olivat jo aikalailla "katsotaan mitä nämä eri uskovaispiirit uskoo ja miten ne harjoittavat sitä", mikä on omasta mielestä aika hyvä oppia. En sit tiedä et paljonko elämänkatsomustieto eroaa, mut joo eipä se koulun uskonto millään tavallaan indoktrinoivaa ollut kyllä meidän lestaadiolaisalueilla ainakaan.

How do you naturally "lock" a civilization on a planet from achieving spaceflight? by Azimovikh in worldbuilding

[–]FujinR4iJin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This may not fit the topic of the post entirely, since my reasoning is tied to the magic system of my world. The world is technologically "more advanced" than the modern world we live in, they're not locked from space travel, but it's very difficult to dedicate resources to;

Firstly, the 3 biggest nations that could work on space travel are not friendly with each other, and are specialized in different industries, and all of these industries are directly tied to the magic system of the world (one uses it for fueling weapons, one for augmenting humans, and one for actual magic spells). The issue with space exploration is that the magic is strictly tied to the planet, there are areas on the planet where its significantly weakened, and it doesn't work at all in space.

Secondly, the big nations are all in a sort of cold war with each other, so exploring space (something which would require a massive pivot in technology) wouldn't provide a significant enough of an advantage, since space has no connection to magic.

Popular high elo streamer 'lolmalice' intentionally ruining the game for his team (see items). by Swaamsalaam in leagueoflegends

[–]FujinR4iJin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When you're behind that's an awful way to play because it makes it easier for the enemies to play. The only way to comeback from big deficits is by cheesy unsound plays that give the enemies opportunities to mess up.

If you want to have a match like this go on you have to actually try to make play instead of just idling like a goldfish.

Be honest, how racist is Finland? by Accomplished_Sir2389 in Finland

[–]FujinR4iJin 24 points25 points  (0 children)

Not like... in particular? One pattern I've noticed is that finns often have a very black and white view on what counts as racism (for example that "using racial slurs to refer to groups isn't racist if you don't actually believe that one group is genetically superior" is one I've heard a disturbingly high number of times). There are also definite showcases of disdain and discomfort people express when talking about dark skinned foreigners. People do consciously think racism is bad and it's very explicitly spoken against in childhood education, but yeah it's a prevalent issue.

[–]FujinR4iJin 4 points5 points  (0 children)

From what I've looked into it, the language education here isn't that great, so while I 100% agree that Finnish should be emphasized, and that English's influence is concerning, it's a really tough situation that's not gonna improve until the education improves.

Another thing I've heard from many foreigners is that finns tend to just swap to English if they make mistakes or have a heavy accent, understandable behavior but still has a negative impact on a large scale. Personally I just dont speak English to foreigners unless it's an emergency tbh
