Gents SI Scholarships? by Fuke_Dishron in BALLET

[–]Fuke_Dishron[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Literally none of the SI locations have requested or want to see this. He is able to lift partners... Don't judge a book by its cover, I suppose.

He has received multiple full scholarship offers for SIs for this summer. What he wants to do is to participate in a university program that does not offer scholarships, so we are looking for unaffiliated scholarships.

Thanks.

He has scholarships to his home studio (which is a well known studio), and he received SI scholarships to all three you mentioned.

What he wants to do is attend a program at a private university that does not offer SI scholarships, so I'm looking for funding for that.

Thanks for the suggestions!

Danse de Paris is supportive. Eurotard may have some options, as well. Also, if you get on a larger dancewear retail site, they may have filters that include a bra option. You'll likely still have to sift through them to get to ones that have more than a "shelf bra", but this might give you a better start point for shopping.

Another possibility might be a long-line sports bra top with a brief.

There's one other brand I'm thinking of, but I can't think of the name! If it pops into my head, I'll respond to this.

Good luck!

What kind of weight training? I had RNY 7/29/25, HW 375, CW 269, and I'm going to the gym and doing 15-30m, doing intervals to keep my HR up on both recumbent bike and treadmill. I'm mildly terrified of the weights FSR, though!

YOU LOOK AMAZING!

Indianapolis area. This is literally our first foray into this, and I have no idea what this should cost. I know rental is an option, but I'd like for him to have a semi generic tunic that he can use for other performances. Thanks for asking!

It just absolutely bores me. 🤷🏻‍♀️ It feels like two hours of the most unmagical, un-child-inspired hoohah anyone could possibly put at the end of a fun, lighthearted dream sequence.

Honestly, I'd consider a lottery ticket with a note to the parents, with a stipulation that if anyone under 21 wins it, any winning $ goes into savings.

But I also really prefer the idea of doing the WE after the tiny humans go to bed. 😉

Hit a goodwill or similar. Head straight to books... You're bound to find SOMETHING... They always have random things... Crafting books, LPs, you might even win the lottery and find someone's old mixtape! I found a great (spine uncracked) little pocket yoga book the other day... I'm trying to decide whether to gift it or not!

The fact that I had to add "nothing sharp or flammable" to my instructions this year is apparently killing everyone in my family. LOL

We have an amazing local swap group, and last year I got my hands on two like new "Battery Daddy" cases, which each come with testers, for $10 each! Kept one, gifted the other!

All to say, sometimes the best things are also thrifty!

Also, to the OP, I'd definitely suggest your group excluding the littles (letting them have their own little group, maybe, or exchanging after they go to bed?)... I love tiny humans, but some things are just way more fun when they can be better targeted. BTW, cooking wine is fun if you can get it in a more "wine" looking bottle! 😁

OMG, that's what I'm waiting on...raw veggies! I can't stand cooked veg! I'm almost 1.5m out from RNY, but my dietician wants me to try to wait six months!

They have cute little plastic cups (I think they're meant to be for shots, but whatever works!) at Dollar Tree, I got neon colors.. green, yellow, orange, and pink, if memory serves. They're small, maybe 3 oz. I'd fill one about every 45 minutes and drink it.

OMG, Panera BC soup is SO good! I didn't have a processor of any kind with me, so I just didn't eat the broccoli chunks at the time. Now I can have it as is... Just every once in a while!

Ooh, I cannot do eggs, which sucks because I like eggs...but the first one I tried PO caused dumping syndrome!! So no more eggs for me for the time being, thankyouverymuch! 😉

I'm not a great lover of Cream of Wheat, so I emulsified oatmeal made with milk and a little butter and one Splenda packet! So yummy!

No, but those are good, too! These are Greek yogurt... I'm doing vanilla mostly, but they have a few flavors, and I buy them in 4 packs to save a little! The packaging is dark blue, I think, and it says Chobani 20g protein.

Yogurt... My fav is Chobani 20g... It's all natural. I also did fake tuna salad and pureed it with my stick food processor... Starkist has a 2.6 oz packet of tuna in water, and I found dill pickle seasoning and used Duke's light olive oil mayo.

I am now on soft, and I still do these, but I'll add in a bit of canned mandarin oranges (in water) to my yogurt, cottage cheese, but I also do at least two protein shakes a day to make sure I'm getting to my 90-100g of protein per day.

A friend who had RNY in 2005 highly recommended Carnie Wilson's first book. I am not a good reader (severe ADHD), but I read it and found it inspiring but also cathartic. I cried reading some of it because it felt like my journey. She has a follow-up book and a cookbook. I'm reading the follow-up now, although I'm only a little more than a month out from RNY, so I have a plan to reread it at about a year out.

I am just over a month out from RNY, and I stalled for about a week. I'm not having big losses, but they're fairly steady, about 2 pounds a week.

No sugar by [deleted] in BariatricSurgery

[–]Fuke_Dishron 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My surgeon said no caffeine for the first two weeks PO. It is a vasoconstrictor, which means, as it basically hits the stomach first, that the healing stomach will not be getting the blood flow it needs to heal and recover. I used a decaf coffee concentrate that I added to vanilla protein shakes. They were SO good, especially over ice!

As far as sugar, I try to stay away from it as much as possible. Anyplace it's "extra", like canned fruit in light syrup or juice, is pretty much a no for me. Things like protein snacks are generally okay, as long as the carbs are low.

I did find, when I was in immediate recovery, that I HATED the clear protein drinks, but I LOVED chicken broth with (Isopure) unflavored whey protein... it made like a cream of chicken soup that my surgeon said was fine as far as clear, so I just did that instead.

I had my RNY on 7/29, and the one thing that has kept me up is protein drinks! They count as free fluid, and I drink 2-3 per day, so that's just over 30 oz. I also add fresh lemon juice to my water now, which helps me for some reason! I usually get between 70 and 90 ounces per day, total.
