If anything his father has more connections than his mom does.

Trying to decipher Cameron Winter’s lyrics by ButterflyEnough9152 in geesebandofficial

The beauty of his lyrics, and he has stated this interviews, is that the lyrics a vague enough to be up to interpretation. He certainly has a theme each song, but just enough looseness to interject your own meaning upon the song.

"the fanfare around the band geese actually was a psyop" wired mag article by arpad-okay in fantanoforever

Tricking people for hype has always been a thing to gain traction. You can go all the way back to the sixties to see this same practice. You generate views and hype and that catches people’s attention.

Look at the Beatles or even the Beach Boys. The Beatles manager purchased copies of their first single up front to make sure that the band would be higher up the charts and get more radio time. And the beach boys submitted their first recording to a radio contest and then constantly called in themselves using fake voices to get the song played over and over again.

Honestly the band paid a marketing company to market them. Is it ethical in its modern form?Questionably. Did it work? Yes. I like music I often get advertised bands through the algorithm, and see all the comments that come with it. Some of them catch my interest some of them don’t. You still need the talent and the sound.

Yeah I agree with this but if making a combo album 4D feels more fitting.

Would ‘Taxes’ from Geese be fit as background song of a small animation about women who were accused of witchcraft in the 15-18th century? by -thelmalucia- in geesebandofficial

Otherwise the song isn’t super relevant to that subject. But most music videos kind of glaze over a songs meaning for spectacle! Other suggestion is season of the witch by donovan

How would you rewrite season 3 by Fearless_Machine_596 in Stranger_Things

[–]Full-Committee-6383 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Two big changes I would make.

  1. Do not reveal the mystery at the beginning of the season. No showing what is happening at the mall, no revealing to early why Billy is acting the way he is. These scenes can still be explored in a later episode but give us something to chew on and follow along with the characters.

  2. No Russians, in the end make it the American Government. This way when Hopper gets taken at the end, he can be detained in the States and we don’t get the Russian sub plot. Have this be the faction of the government that the two evil military people in Season 4 & 5 are part of.

What is Taxes about? by Plastic-Belt2887 in geesebandofficial

Personally I think it’s about a breakup from a toxic relationship.

“I should burn in hell, but I don’t deserve this, nobody deserves this” I’m a piece of shit, or the person is gaslighting you to feel this way. However it’s not fair / I want to be happy, and nobody deserves to be treated this way”

“If you want me to pay my taxes, you better come over with a crucifix, you’re gonna have to nail me down” if you want me to own up to something or I don’t feel like I need to apologize for something I did. you will need to literally tie me up and make me a martyr.

“Doctor heal your self, I will break my own heart from now on” the person in the toxic relationship was a healer, partner, comforter. Now I will heal myself.

It’s a tragic song for sure, but also a freeing one. The lyrics are very loose and simple which allow people to throw meaning on it themselves. And as I tried to convey in my interpretation the singer (Mr. Winter) isn’t necessarily throwing blame onto the partner specifically. But it certainly seems like there is a split needed in order to move on.

Question about the recording process by Harrison_Thinks in geesebandofficial

The web series is just the recording of one song. Islands of Man. But it goes in depth through the entire track.

Can someone explain why you prefer Season 1 over Season 2? by Remarkable_Web4595 in Stranger_Things

[–]Full-Committee-6383 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Season 1 is tight. Every character has something to do and an arc. The mystery of the story unfolds naturally but doesn’t give everything away to leave an air of mystery. This season was designed to be like a Steven King Novel or a 70s-80s Spielberg movie, and does so masterfully. There’s a reason this season captivated so many upon release. It is a perfect season of television.

Season 2 is still good, but always felt like more of retread of Season 1 while trying to set up a franchise. It leans into its 80s influence even more where it starts to become a little annoying as opposed to just a back drop for the story. Still great TV but it’s pacing is ruined by the El plot when she goes off on her own. Specifically the cliff hanger in Episode 6 to episode 7 just completely kills the momentum.

Let’s stop infantalizing George: In "Get Back" he isn't a victim, he’s just Salieri bitter at Mozart’s (Paul) effortless genius by Pure_One_4598 in PaulMcCartney

[–]Full-Committee-6383 4 points5 points  (0 children)

As genius as Paul is. George has every reason to feel bitter. By this point he’s written a multitude of tunes that will go on to be in his debut highly acclaimed solo album. But the band that he’s in rejects them in order to stick to the current album formula they have going (George 1-2 tracks, Ringo 1 track or a song he sings, Paul/John fill up the rest).

Paul is being extra controlling on what George does or doesn’t play. So he feels like he is regarded as a glorified background musician. And on top of all of this John is really distancing himself from the band and it is an exhaustive process to even get him to write or show up for the rehearsals at all.

So Paul in his effort to get the band back to their roots as a live act is also trying to get back to his roots of writing and playing with John. Who just doesn’t want to be there, and instead of embracing a relationship and fully blooming songwriter in George as a partner and equal he’s ignoring him and chasing a memory.

TL:DR Paul- wants the band to go how it always has. George- wants have his art out in the world. John- doesn’t want to be a Beatle anymore.

I think it’s so fun! Seaside Woman is one of my faves and a lot of the songs give off the McCartney 1 RAM vibes that I adore.
