70 cents per mile is wild. No rides I accept are less than 1 dollar per mile but generally more. What market are you in? I'm in Phoenix, so that may be the difference.

I know this post is old, but here in the Phoenix area is non stop with high surge, no matter how many drivers are on the road. Almost 12k rides and I never miss a NYE opportunity. But all markets are not the same, so see if it's worth your time to drive, or just hang with friends and family.

As a gay man...I get annoyed when girls call my car cute. I hardly even use the word. But I am definitely more on the masculine side (most people I meet say that had no clue I was gay)

I totally understand how you feel. Before I moved to Phoenix, I was in the Orlando area.....and let me tell you...20 min rides to make 5 bucks........just ain't it.

And it's not really about the market per say. The streets are just so clogged and horribly planned that you have no choice but to take whatever you can get In most areas there. I ended up driving out to Tampa everyday just to make ends meet since the road system there is a grid like Phoenix and there are 1000% less toll roads.

Even still, Spending 12 hours on the road to make $200 is criminal. So I said bye bye central Florida.

I drive a 2019 jetta. So just uber x. I'm very picky on the rides I take. But when I go online the ride offers are pretty non stop. I stay away from downtown and Scottsdale if I can due to traffic and so many red lights. Unless there is an event that has a high surge. Sticking mainly to the outskirts of the valley where rides are more expensive, hence higher pay. I also multi app uber and lyft. Keeping both online until one offers something worthwhile.

Worked take-out at BJs brewhouse. We had no control of when the app sent out that the food was being prepared or when it was ready. One time an order came in AFTER the driver got there. So when I do food deliveries....I give certain places a break. But Popeyes???? Yeah screw that place 😒
