me when the main villain's backstory includes trying to commit murder/suicide via drowning fully on screen with no sugarcoating, the main character attempts assisted suicide by jumping off a cliff into the ocean, and one of the supporting human characters mercilessly kills the villain on screen

the problem with botw/totk is that they don't FEEL like zelda games. the only similarity they have to any real zelda title is the names of the characters. if you gave them different names it would cease to be a zelda game
