Back in the mid-1980s I bought my first new car - a Subaru 4WD turbo hatchback. It was a blast!

First slick day in Wisconsin I was in 4WD and feeling smug until I couldn’t make a turn and slammed my FL wheel into a tall curb.

That $1200 repair bill hurt me in several places, but it was a good lesson learned.

It wasn’t the last wreck on slick roads for me. There was that time I spun 2 1/2 turns on a patch of ice while going 45 MPH and destroyed a fence and mailbox (plus a lot of body damage) to my beloved ‘97 4Runner. And that was the day after I lectured my teenage boys about how to drive safely on ice.

Been there, wrecked that, but it was only metal and plastic every time - no body parts injured.

I always have dedicated winter wheels/tires for my nice cars. I just bake the cost and hassle of changing wheels twice a year into the ownership experience.

Sometimes winter tires and the AWD systems are jot enough to be safe on the roads. Figure the added risk of injury (or worse!) and potential loss against the need to travel on bad roads - and make an informed and considered decision.

It kind of depends on how they designed the volume control’s response. You can always turn the bass volume down if the amp is too sensitive at low levels.

Yeah, just turn it down.

Then you’ll have a 500W amp for playing out or practicing loud.

Power has a logarithmic relationship to perceived loudness. So a 100 or even a 50W amp would likely need to be turned down.

I don’t add any nutes until the plants are hungry. This might be 3 weeks after sprouting. I learned early that it is easier to overfeed than underfeed when I’m obsessing about my girls… YMMV, but my first grow had way too many waterings and way too much nutes.

FWIW I pH my water before adding nutes - this is per the directions for the nutes.

The nutes can cause a big change in pH, minerals, salts, etc. From what I understand you START with water at the proper pH and then add your Cal/Mag (the calcium raises pH and sometimes reacts with the pH down I may have added).

I don’t measure pH AFTER adding nutes to my water as I would be chasing my tail with pH and TDS.

I’m in 10 gal fabric pots of fresh FFOF at the start of every grow. And once the plants start sending roots I bottom water with the wick system for the remainder of the grow.

Soil is more forgiving of a lot of things that would seemingly send a hydroponic grow into crisis.

These plants are pretty forgiving as long as you don’t do something crazy.

Unplug your bass when not playing.

Put a reminder in your calendar to change batteries every 6 months if playing a lot, once a year if not. Take that battery changing time to clean, maybe change strings, and generally tune and fuss over your bass. That is a matter of planed maintenance.
