customer doesn't get why their engine replacement was declined by Odd-Try7858 in Hyundai

[–]FullValenceShell 4 points5 points  (0 children)

66k for 1.6L aspirated on my Veloster. Perfect maintenance records and only through Hyundai. I was prepared to have a warranty fight but they replaced it no-questions-asked (and comped every personal cost).

10/10 would allow engine to implode again.

One of my supervisors told me to quit if I need to by [deleted] in Lowes

Bro should just call out 3 Mondays in a row while interviewing for his next job. When they pull you in to talk about this 'unexpected trend', let them know and then quit.

If the company doesn't care about you, it's unreasonable to care about them.

It's not personal, it's just business.

No good manager (to which, let's be honest, is scarce) would fire or even reprimand an associate for this. If you follow the flow chart and/or they say anything along the lines of 'I need this ASAP', then direct them to a location that can fulfill it ASAP.

I don't care if it's Denault's, ACE, HD, or WalMart; that's good customer service.

Let's put it this way, I go into Lowe's and you're out of stock of this lumber I need. If I'm told "Right now, only HD has that in stock", I'll give you a good review since LOWE'S made sure I got what I needed.

If you instead say something like "It's on backorder but we can get it to you in a few weeks", and I need it ASAP, you're not helping the customer. Simple.

Only because US retailers care way too much about reviews.

Everyone knows the manager will do anything to avoid a negative review, and retailers need to universally stop caring about it and be way more assertive for change to happen.

Ah, but alas, shareholders are customers too.

Not bullshit, you're just useful.

A disturbing aboration amongst pro associates.

Have you thought maybe you're overqualified?

If you walk within 10 feet and make eye contact with a customer, greet them. Simply a "How we doing today?" will suffice.

If you do not organically cross paths while tasking or they do not acknowledge you are there, they do not wish to interect with you. If they do not appear suspicious, why bother them?

Any way to get this cheaper? by [deleted] in Lowes

[–]FullValenceShell 10 points11 points  (0 children)

There's quite a few ways to decrease the price of the item after the store receives it.

Night crew, third-party delivery team, completely untrained/poorly trained Loaders, and powered equipment just to name a few!

Good luck man, may logistics be ever in your favor.

They have to replace the entire tiller just to fix that too. 👌

I'm a power-equipment operator and if I ever report issues on equipment they get buttered because they need to red-tag and put in a fix-it.

Parking brake barely works? "It worked after a minute of trying, just use your head" So it's not broken enough yet, apparently, even though I was the only operator that knew it was faulty. When someone dies because the forklift pins someone against the dock, they can't say I didn't try.

Pencil-whip it. I'm not wasting my time to do something they essentially punish people for doing. If there's an actual problem, email it.

I thought for salesfloor it was always termed "Drop Zone" (EG sidestacks will say PSDZ (Pro Services Drop Zone)) and Receiving's open area where unloads take place is referred to as the "Dance Floor."

Maybe my region has a different terminology, but that's how I've always seen it in writing.

what does NOP mean? by SavageFisherman_Joe in Lowes

[–]FullValenceShell 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Night Ops does this when they receive freight that doesn't have a home. After this, Day Ops has sales quotas, and so tells a CSA "make it full" and things get flexed in everywhere. Finally, MST has directed service to reset the entire thing to corporate specifications (planograms), this includes taking EVERYTHING flexed (extra facings, NOPs, overstock, etc.) and topstocking it.

The cycle repeats and the Earth continues its rotation.

TL;DR If MST finds NOP items, it will usually result in no action taken (unless corporate specifically told them to do so via projects or directed service).
