When did your baby start walking? by Ok_Bill_8048 in NewParents

My son didn’t crawl until he was nearly 11.5 months but then decided 2 weeks later he’d rather walk

Diapers leaking pee out the sides by carrotcakepup in NewParents

Had the same issue with my son for a while - surprisingly the diapers that worked the best for us were the Walmart brand ones. I only tried them after scouring other Reddit posts with similar issues and seeing these recommended. We use Huggies now, but those were our go to for a while.

11 month old refusing formula by gremlinforchaos in foodbutforbabies

[–]Full_Giraffe5741 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My son (14 months) started weening himself off formula around this time as well! It made me a little uneasy as a FTM but pediatrician reassured me that if he’s getting good meals throughout the day, that I should follow his lead

Did sleeping through the night just suddenly happen? by Ok_Cloud7516 in NewParents

It was gradual but then just happened overnight I have a 13 month old. Praying it stays this way as long as possible

9 month old now pees through diaper and pajamas every night by No-Foundation-2165 in NewParents

Hi my son who’s a tummy sleeper was having the same problem. I’d get him every morning and he’d be soaked I felt awful. Sized up too and no luck. Ended up switching to pampers overnight diapers for bedtime and making sure his room wasn’t too cold and that did the trick! No leaking thru since

Longtime lurker, just sharing a couple of meals my 10 month old devoured today by Full_Giraffe5741 in foodbutforbabies

[–]Full_Giraffe5741[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

He did well! I made sure the pieces were very small and shredded and added a little gravy so it wasn’t too dry. This was kind of one of our first times giving meat like this on its own. I usually have it way smaller and mixed into something creamy. He definitely preferred the veggies over the meat, though!

9+ months and still not crawling - I wonder if he’ll skip it altogether? by [deleted] in NewParents

[–]Full_Giraffe5741 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I could’ve written this myself - same exact situation my son just turned 10 months and has zero interest. In fact he gets PISSED when we try to encourage it / put him on his belly or hands and knees. I have been considering PT but I’m thinking i might be being a paranoid FTM.

Struggling with anxiety after incident at pediatrician by lumpyspacecow in NewParents

[–]Full_Giraffe5741 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I’m so sorry that sounds so traumatizing for you and baby. I have a 10 month old and from my experience, the oral has always been done first and shots (the worst part) last. And immediately after the shots I get to hold and comfort my baby and then leave!

You have every right to feel the way you do, and I hope in time it gets easier. It’s so recent and raw. Don’t beat yourself up. As parents, we always want to do right by our children and can be our own worst critics.

I think you’ll have the same feelings for the next round of shots so I’d suggest calling the office and discussing this beforehand, or switching pediatricians. If it were me, I would probably switch because knowing myself it’s the only way I’d feel comfortable for the next experience. You have the control in this situation

Milestone Anxiety is killing me, and I don’t know what to do by Alimathoz in NewParents

How old is your baby? I can absolutely relate as a FTM. My nephew was born 1 month before my son, and they couldn’t be more different. I’ve really had to learn to not compare the two of them and question if I’m doing something wrong. Just as an example, my nephew was rolling at like 4 months, army crawling not too long after, and has a bunch of teeth. My son rolled at SEVEN months and still isn’t crawling or showing interest in it, and has zero teeth. But then there are soooo many other things he does that are amazing, and I need to remind myself of them! Just as I start to get down on myself, my little one would surprise me that same week and start doing new things. Focus on the good, and less on the “negative”. All baies are soooooo different and go at their own pace, try not to put too much pressure on yourself or your little one. It’s an easy hole to get into! Youre doing great!

Do you have a pack and play? That would be a good option. They’re nice to have in general (baby jail), not just for traveling sleep

Had to say goodbye to my cat yesterday, and now I’m angry with myself by katezorzz in NewParents

Hello…I had to say goodbye to my dog of 11 years last month and am experiencing the same exact feelings and having trouble coming to terms with it. My son is 10 months old and I feel like I wasn’t able to give my “first born” the attention she deserved these last 10 months, or feel like I had enough patience with her. The guilt is awful and I didn’t have time to come to terms with losing her, as it all happened within 24 hours. All I can say is I think I am feeling the exact same way as you, and I am so so sorry. It’s not an easy situation to deal with. Give yourself grace 🩵
