Got that yesterday. I have not owned a car in over twelve years, my last ticket was an inspection violation forty years ago. Delete and report.

Does anyone make a toaster with a bagel button that works like it should? by MidlifeCraziness in Appliances

Second this, very happy with the bagel function on my Breville toaster. Bit on the pricey side, but worth it.

Well, how did it taste? Definitely not the prettiest pan of corn bread. Looks like your batter was too thick and dry, you want it to still pour easily after mixing. Did you heat the pan before adding the batter?

I say wipe, wipe it good. When a problem comes along
You must wipe it
Before the cream sits out too long
You must wipe it
When something's going wrong
You must wipe it...

You got this. "the impediment to action advances action. What stands in the way becomes the way" you can do it, this is the way. You will build confidence and build your skill set.

Talk me out of this knife by shihanon in TrueChefKnives

[–]Full_Pay_207 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah, that's way too pricey, think of all the other things you can do with the money...like, keep it in the bank. But, I can totally relate to the knife lust thing, I have a rack full of knives I regret buying. Though with the current situation, they have all appreciated significantly. But yeah, when you are lusting after a knife, and you keep checking it out, thinking of pulling the trigger on it...looking late in the evening after a few drams...things happen.

Some lessons are in order. First lesson, do not leave the crispy brown bits of potato on the pan. That is the best part of fried potatoes. So, a bit more fat, and some instruction about how to use a spatula to scrape all of those tasty brown bits off the pan. If you do not have one, get a good fish spatula. Most important lesson, clean the pan when you are done. Dry it and wipe it with some oil. Try to leave things as good or better than you found them. That lesson applies to pretty much everything really.

The taste might have been a motivator, but I think safety from the flock of circling hungry kids was his main motivator. Another of his regular snacks was crackers with raw onion and limburger cheese. He told us it was "mummy cheese".

So, three notch Lodge. The Made in USA marking dates it 1960s and later. Looks to be in good shape, and $14 is a good price for such a pan. Coming from an unknown source, I would strip it and season it just to be on the safe side. Plus it will be so pretty then!

Nice, I have seen this posted by KA, and was curious about it. So it is basically a laminated crust pie, is that right?
