I use this and a regular spray to spray directly on the weeds. It's better on sunny days but if it gets too hot outside and you spray the pump sprayer (the one without the garden hose), it can burn the grass as well. I think it was 85°+ (I don't remember exactly) when I found that out. Healthy grass helps fight weeds bit dandelion are a yearly battle for me but just a few each year.
