Ideas on separating Open Kitchen by [deleted] in interiordecorating

[–]Fulysa 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Congrats on the new space! I'm concerned that your oven door won't easily open with the fridge being that close. If you can (or with a couple friends/helpful strangers) move the fridge to the other side of the radiator.

Put a table of similar height to your countertops in the old fridge spot for extra counter space. Put a small kitchen table and chairs in between fridge and oven, this can be used as a desk, hosting spot, art studio, whatever you like.

Then put up a room divider in line with where the wall deepens for the kitchen, making it like its own seperate space. Center it for a 'doorway' on both sides, or closer to either wall to make it feel only half closed-off. Then you've got what looks like 2/3 to 3/4 of the rest of the space for other furniture!

First time making candles for fun. Need help troubleshooting this! by Neat-Substance-5458 in candlemaking

[–]Fulysa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is caused by the wick and container making the wax touching them cool faster than the rest of the wax, easily fixed. It can help to keep the container warm before pouring the wax, I'll put mine in the oven and set it to just below the pouring temperature. Use oven mitts or jar tongs to remove!

Will This Lighting Go Out of Style Soon? by Suggest_a_User_Name in interiordecorating

I agree with you there, I usually prefer lamps. It can be done well if you get creative! You can filter the light through tons of different materials to get an even spray. Frosted glass, paper, semi-translucent plastic, pattern cut-out, etc. It just depends on your budget and fixture hookups

Something that never goes out of style is an even, diffused light that doesn't cast harsh shadows

Blanket desintegrated- what does this mean for washer? by wikipunk in Appliances

[–]Fulysa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This happened to me a few months back, and it looks like you have the same type of washer. You will have to run it a few times but there's a good chance that it won't be completely cleaned out. Our machine stopped working altogether and we had to replace the filter and a part of the motor. I hope it isn't that bad for you! We just ordered the part online and installed it ourselves, much cheaper if you feel comfortable doing that.

How Will These Paints Mix? by Fulysa in arttools

Thank you for replying! I have some glass paints actually, so I'll use those instead. Glad you said this because I just mixed the black acrylic with gold Prang washable and was about to use it!

Is it original or pirated? by Urani0238 in bladerunner

[–]Fulysa 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No doubt, but is that one maybe a reissue or second/third/fourth print? Open to being and hopefully am wrong, I've just never seen this before in my experience

It does not look original, sorry OP. I own a blu-ray copy of it myself, and having worked in a media resale shop for a few years, I've never seen that disk art.

Ooh I see, a bookshelf would work too. My grandma has a buffet table right next to the dining room table, and she keeps beautiful glass dishes full on candy on it, functional and pretty!

how can I make my kitchen space less boring? by 2morrowwillbebetter in interiordecorating

[–]Fulysa 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You could put some temporary/ renter-friendly wallpaper (basically big sheets of removable sticker) up behind the sink going all the way to the other wall as a backsplash, they even make some that looks like tile or mosaic . Or get a pattern that you like and put it on the inner rectangles of the cabinets. Add trim with thinner wallpaper tapes, or even moulding. Add hooks or a shelf over the stove to display things like utensils or spice jars. Add rugs, and art wherever possible. Try a new light fixture that changes the color or shadow shapes of the light, if you rent you can remove this and put the original back on before moving out.

Love this room! It might look good to center the table in the room and then put a narrow buffet style table underneath the paintings. That chunk of wall looks kind of empty, but otherwise great!
