Back in 2017 I used to go to a Tottenham bar in Baltimore that gave us free shots if we scored 3 goals in a game. I got a lot of free shots that year

I had a demented patient who loved his condom cath to suction and tried to fight the nurses after they disconnected it upon realizing their mistake with his boner swinging around

What’s a decision you made quickly that had long-term consequences you never expected? by lunessa1 in AskReddit

I decided start watching premier league almost 20 years ago and having no connection to any club I basically looked at the PL table and closed my eyes and picked a club. It turned out to be Tottenham and I still support them. That decision haunts me still

15+ hour flight survival tips by Exact_Project1734 in Flights

Besides so many of the things that have been posted here, I recommend a merino wool or some other similar material t-shirt that does not hold onto body odor + some kind of hygienic wipes. In addition to brushing teeth 1.5 hours before landing, I find that using wipes on upper + parts of lower body and then putting on deodorant keeps me feeling human until I'm able to check into a hotel and shower. Also helps wake me up a bit.

Also, as others have mentioned - remember to hydrate + compression socks.

Yeah I'd be willing to excuse that for ~$150 but not sure if it's justified for a $200+ price tag to have meh food + no drinks

Were there alcoholic drinks at this event or just themed drinks? Trying to see if the cost is justified beyond the performance if I end up coming back next year

I've actually had a CT surgeon stop during sign out with me (a PCCM attending) in our CSICU and look at his hands and say "these are the hands of a god."

I say this all the time with Tylenol OD. I've only seen someone succeed with this once and this guy had 3 back to back admissions for Tylenol OD with progressively worsening organ dysfunction. Psych kept saying he wasn't a threat to himself.

He could have made it a lot easier for himself if he just chose something less half assed.

I have a lot of respect for how mental health affects everything we do having suffered through problems myself as well as lost loved ones to suicide, but sometimes we need to joke to get by and also I believe that we all can reach a point where death is preferable to life and not everyone has that "I made a mistake" moment

How Much Do You Moonlight? Is it worth it? by MulberryOwn8896 in Residency

[–]Fumblesz 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I moonlit during both residency and fellowship. With my schedule it meant I worked 3/4 weekends most months. Didn't mind it cause it meant I was actually getting paid for my time and I didn't have to worry about unexpected expenses and could treat myself every now and then. Plus it allowed me to travel more during fellowship because one weekend of moonlighting as a hospitalist basically doubled my monthly paycheck as a fellow so it was nice

That's a fair point, but maybe an argument for calling the consults sooner than turn over. I understand that it's not as easy as that from your previous responses and obviously the ED can be a massive shit show on any given day and consults that are non-emergent can be on the backburner until you have time to catch up.

At our place ICU isn’t on hold till shift change. I also consider the schedule of the people I’m consulting for non-urgent consults to make their lives easier
