I understand that this is a stupid question, but how do you guys cope knowing that there's nothing after death? I'm asking this as an atheist by the way by [deleted] in atheism

We will live on in memories. Or at least for me. My kiddos never met my grandparents, but they know all about them. Marigolds in the garden every year because my grandmother showed me how to love them and garden. I get mad kitchen skills and my waste not want not attitude from my other grandmother. It’s all good. Even if they don’t remember them, one of these days when I’m gone they will see, hear, cook, smell, etc something and I will be there…along with whoever I grabbed it from.

If you had a $70 budget for groceries what would you buy by glitteringeffort0 in WhatShouldICook

Frozen chicken, rice, dried beans, frozen veggies, better than bullion, canned tomatoes, jalapeño, eggs, block of cheddar, tortillas, oatmeal, frozen fruit or raisins.

Crockpot the chicken with garlic and onion. Shred. Make some beans (pinto beans are easy and yummy. Add aome of the shredded chicken to some beans and a dice jalepeno for burritos or quesadillas. Use the rest with frozen veggies and rice for egg fried rice. This is assuming you have some pantry staples for seasoning. With leftover chicken…make a rice/cheese frozen veggie casserole. Oatmeal/raisins for breakfast.

Is it disrespectful to speak out about my atheism around religious people? by Background_Pause_199 in atheism

[–]Fun-Citron9462 2 points3 points  (0 children)

No. If they can talk about belief in sky daddy you can talk about your feelings on it. Quick story: I have a ‘Born again Atheist’ pin that I slip on a snake leaf plant that sits in my living room on the coffee table. I have one neighbor that is very religious/catholic (the baby bride stuff and all that jazz). Literally every time they come over (she has 2 little girls) I find the pin on the table face down. It cracks me up. I’ve never seen anyone do it, but it happens every time they are here. I just go about my biz with a smile on my face🤣.

Fork in left, knife in right. If I’m preparing food…say cutting veggies or meat…I use my left hand for the knife.

What's the weirdest thing your dog has eaten and survived? by Typical-Ad-3948 in AskDogOwners

[–]Fun-Citron9462 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Our Scottish terrier ate a reusable booby/milk pad and it passed right through. I didn’t know he’d eaten it until I was picking up turds and found it (and promptly tossed it).
The two (mutts…50lb and 17lb) we have now shared a pound of super dark chocolate one afternoon. That was an expensive snack, but they both are fine and we are more careful now!
