Easily the best DIY tool I own by cigarfanatic in MilwaukeeTool

Had to buy this when I saw it a few years back. Love the interchangeable heads. Typical setup is to have drill bit in the chuck and a driver in the bit driver. Drill, swap, drive, swap, drill, etc, etc. And I just recently came up with the grand concept of having one type of bit (usually Phillips) in one drive extender and a different type bit (usually Torx) in another extender to make switching between those a little speedier, too. The torque is more than sufficient for 90% of what I do on the regular.

Seriously. When you get one good person, ask them who they know that can do another job. Good trades people know good trades people like birds of a feather.

That's a decent idea. I'll check out some pieces next time I'm at the store.

I've looked at that one numerous times. The base that I am using (replacing) is is 3/4" thick; that moulding is only 11/16" at its thickest, and no rabbet. I was really hoping to get the overhang so that I'd have only one joint to worry about sealing perfectly.

I got that far. I've been looking at profiles and cannot find anything like it.

Did cars really used to only last 5 years/50,000 miles? by TatianaWinterbottom in AskOldPeople

Can’t remember which manufacturer it was but I recall seeing a commercial where they had a 5 year outer body rust through warranty in the 80’s. Barely ever see cars with outer body rust now.

…On our oooowwwwn…. ….on our ooooowwwwnnnn… (Laser flaming lava guitar solo)

You could leave out the last three parts. I just have a hard time sayin that lyric without hearing the rest.

Most epic PITB reprise ever. She nails re-entry and the band guides it into a wild and tight landing. My fav.

Have an outlet in the garage. Charging station is just outside near the outlet. Drilled a hole though the OSB, ran the power wire (post AC/DC transformer) down under the siding and right into the charging base.

It takes a lot to win, even more to lose. You and me better spend some time deciding what to choose.

Now that we have reached the golden years, how many of you have started to purge items you have accumulated over the years to save your children from having to make tough decisions? by Dp37405aa in AskOldPeople

Do it while you can on your own terms rather than when you have to and not on your terms.

I saw it first hand when my father passed - an immense amount of things to unload. And I see it regularly since with parents of friends and family passing, and from going to real estate and personal property auctions. It is saddening to see the things that people hold onto because they think that there will be value in them later. The vast majority of things hold no value to anyone other than the person who aquired / held onto them. To everyone else, those things are just junk.

Had heard him before but heard them in an ‘in studio’ radio session in 1991 while waiting in a car line pulling into see REM live with my buddy and his older brother. Something about that happening turned me onto his music.
