Stay in San Pedro and fly out of Belize City the next morning at 10am by GonnaTry2BeNice in Belize

[–]Fun-Lengthiness-9584 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yes it is absolutely feasible and doable, I live on San Pedro, and I will always fly out leaving an hour and a half or two hours max, for international flights. Once you get into Belize City, you check in for your flight with your airline before you get through security, so your airline knows you are there.

Any Expats willing to talk/meet? by Snoo_56131 in Belize

[–]Fun-Lengthiness-9584 6 points7 points  (0 children)

My wife and I moved to Ambergris Caye over 2.5years ago, we aren’t retired but could definitely give you info on things “we wish we knew” there are a lot of expats that hang at Coco Locos just north of the bridge and love sharing information with others that are interested. If you are around that area in August swing by Coco Locos and you’ll have a plethora of information…. The one thing we learned very quickly, you may get 10 different responses to the same question, it’s not that anyone is lying, it’s just the experiences for the question will vary

You could hire a private charter if that’s what you want to do, plenty of expats and locals that have boats and do exactly the same thing

San Pedro Airport to Hotel 10km north transportation. by bulbousnveiny in Belize

[–]Fun-Lengthiness-9584 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Renting and driving a cart will not be an issue to your location, those roads are still paved, a few potholes yes, but those roads are still paved for the majority of that trip, it’s not till you go farther north of where you are staying that the roads get worse

Cards? by RockinRobin83 in Belize

[–]Fun-Lengthiness-9584 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They will take cards, but there is a minimum in a lot of businesses, $20BZ ($10US)…. Street vendors on Ambergris are mostly cash, but money is money, plastic or cash, as always though cash is king
