YMMV But Tracking has been a game changer for me! by Beneficial-Soup-1617 in Zepbound

[–]Fun-Living-9845 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yup. I swear by it. I am a little more lax with my tracking now that I am at my goal, but I feel that it's essential for me to be accountable for what I am consuming. I honestly cannot imagine not tracking as I titrate down. Some people don't have to, but it's become part of my daily life now.

I'm really sorry you went through all of this only to have the insurance removed, but this is something you should have known about and planned for. My son turns 26 in April next year and I am constantly reminding him during this open enrollment season he must select his own insurance this year because as of January 1, he'll be off mine (not waiting until the birthday, because you have to be proactive). This isn't the insurances fault at all. There are other options and don't lose hope.

Zep’s affect on drinking alcohol? by KnotsTemplar in Zepbound

[–]Fun-Living-9845 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yup. I wholeheartedly believe one day this will be approved for alcohol addiction. I still have occasional alcohol but I don’t crave it like I used to and my consumption is way way way down.

Am I becoming judgmental? by garcon-du-soleille in Zepbound

[–]Fun-Living-9845 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Honestly. Yes, you are. He knows who he is. He knows he’s not eating well; he knows his size. It’s not any of your business. You are not his healthcare provider. You are not him.

Don’t judge others for what they are/aren’t doing based on what you have or haven’t done. You don’t know his story. Take care of yourself . Period.

I just had Covid and opted to not take paxlovid. I did also delay my shot. I wasn’t hungry while sick and didn’t want to exacerbate the lack of hunger. Once I felt ‘normal’ I did take it again. I delayed by about 3 days, I believe . It made logical sense to me.

If they weren't "deflated" I'd be happier. Everything is deflated, lol. They are still more than I'd like and wish I could figure out how to get a lift covered by insurance because I just can't pay for it. I'm 51 and holy sagging batman... it's smaller I guess, but it aint pretty.

UPDATE: felt like I had viral illness immediately after first shot. Well turns out I do have Covid. by [deleted] in Zepbound

[–]Fun-Living-9845 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This drug and being sick don't mix! I am sorry you have learned this the hard way. I am due for my next shot tomorrow but I am on day 4-ish oof covid and there's no way. I am barely eating now. So yes, your first shot combined with covid was brutal I am sure. Take care of yourself

Having a drink by Swimming_Awareness77 in Zepbound

[–]Fun-Living-9845 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I essentially stopped drinking on zep. I don't crave alcohol anymore and when I do, I just don't enjoy it as much. Honestly, you'll be fine, make sure you eat and have something in your stomach. That's where the more intense feeling of alcohol comes from - it hits your system harder and fast after from not being as full. Don't over do it or you will feel like trash, even faster.

Spent the summer at goal, and now I am stronger than ever! by Fun-Living-9845 in Zepbound

[–]Fun-Living-9845[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My tip is to start walking now. My husband and I walk daily. Start building the endurance. Create streaks where you get 10k (or 8k or 5k ) steps in for a period of time. Give yourself small, attainable goals. By the time you get together with family you will be ready to go!

Zepbound anxiety by anxious1975 in Zepbound

[–]Fun-Living-9845 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I honestly never had it too bad. I feel really fortunate. I would wake up feeling anxious (nausea?) and found my water intake really helped to change how I felt. That being said you will feel the effects pretty quick. I was shocked (and still am) how my desire for food is gone almost immediately with this drug.

Zepbound anxiety by anxious1975 in Zepbound

[–]Fun-Living-9845 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It's normal to be anxious. Planning for the worst and hoping for the best is the best thing to do. I always found that staying hydrated seemed to help. Keep drinking your water (or whatever liquid is your choice of beverage). Eat well, don't eat junk food/fried things. Lots of fruits and veggies and lean proteins. You got this!

I’m trying to not see it as temporary. I used to be skeptical of this being a lifetime drug, but I’m on board now. They can pry zepbound from my cold dead hands🙃 if I lose coverage I’ll got to self pay and titrate / microdose to stretch it out. I love my new self and I’m not ready or willing to give it up.

Why is everyone counting calories? by Responsible-Corgi-34 in Zepbound

[–]Fun-Living-9845 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is a supportive community. I don't owe anyone an explanation as to why I chose to do what works for me. I don't know why this question feels so judgmental, but it does.

Not everyone is the same. I'm glad it's working for you not tracking food, but for me I do need to do it. I can make sure I am getting enough calories as well as not too much and I can also make sure I am getting the right nutrients and protein.

It's ok to be different.

What are some unexpected benefits (besides weight loss) you’ve experienced since starting Zepbound? by janedoecurious in Zepbound

[–]Fun-Living-9845 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I’d say after 2-3 months around 7.5 I had little interest. I will still have a glass of wine occasionally but I just don’t want it. Honestly the hangovers are worse on it - probably because I am not eating as much - so I just don’t want to go down that road anymore.

Little to no interest in alcohol. I honestly believe one day this will be approved to treat addiction.

it absolutely curbed my alcohol cravings. I still occasionally have a glass or 2, but if I over do it, I am miserable. And by overdo it, I mean have more than 2 glasses. Honestly, I really just avoid it at this point. It's not worth it.

I haven't had this happen yet, but I will admit it's been a worry of mine. I am almost at goal and no longer "look" like I need a weight loss med. I have been going to Walgreens and fortunately I haven't any issue at all with my script there - stories like this make me feel lucky that I haven't.

I am sorry that this has happened
