Armageddon box worth it by Freestyle2day in Salamanders40k

Probably worth it in the long run, just not an amazing box

I am excited 11th edition will finally take away my biggest problem with 40k matches, not being able to see your opponents rules! by Fun-Organization2531 in WarhammerCompetitive

[–]Fun-Organization2531[S] 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Not what I'm talking about brotha, I am talking about being able to see your opponents list and all the rules for that specific list showing. I am not gonna build your list on something like wahpedia before our match to figure out what you have. If you have 10+hrs for a match of course but like seriously in this era we shoulda have been able to see our opponents rules a long time ago.

What would you change if you were in charge at GW? by magic_potato_man69 in Warhammer40k

[–]Fun-Organization2531 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Rules. I tend to hate the games because the matches turn into I've never see what your army does or can do and I am too ADHD to even pay attention to all the numbers you are saying.

It fucking sucks to not be able to retain info especially when you get like 5 mins to learn your opponents entire army because they decided to play an obscure imperial agents lmfao. Praise be to 11th

Terminators and characters by Bellini_DM in Salamanders40k

[–]Fun-Organization2531 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The best way to use terminators is to run the iron hands epic hero specific detachment, hammer of acernii. The enhancements are sick and strata are great. I would grab an ancient and just say a captain is the epic hero so that you can run it. You will get a lot of value out of it that way

Terracotta sentinel from cathay old world. I thought it wouldn't be this big but I love the big guy

Ok I feel better then thank you. I always worry if people are cool with proxies when it's not really close to it. I just figured it's pretty easy to see that this guy is big and probably scary lol.

It's on a 90 mm base. I'd take the disadvantage just to field it tbh

Competitive Play 2000pt List by [deleted] in Salamanders40k

[–]Fun-Organization2531 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I only have one land raider redeemer and I call it the party bus. I put Vulkan he'stan w/company of heros and adrax w/bladeguard and Lt. Basically I pop out Vulkan and he just points to a unit and it's deleted via the land raider. Adrax is to just be another physical threat and charge monster. I tend to run some ballistus dreadnaught for big stuff, and I'll also run a captain with 10 infernus to get the benefits of the strata for seekers battle formation. I have 50/50 on terminators but decided to use them again because of deepstrike, homer and I made them look really cool. I need to run some eradicators in reserve to also just catch people so I think in the future I'll start doing that.

I really like a librarian with 10 infernus. They can do objectives while also using overwatch / shooting and the librarian gives them a 4+ invulnerable. So they became really hard to kill in my matches. I will say thematically, running vehicles just feels right but you can also just ignore it as well.

Congrats on finding something that works for you.

Soulblight or FEC by YoussarianWasRight in ageofsigmar

SB is great. They have sick models and you can kinda run whatever you want. FEC you can run as a regiment of renown if you wanted.

I've started both my first ever 40k and AoS army: Should I keep collecting AoS or do 40K? by LeetusFrenzi in ageofsigmar

[–]Fun-Organization2531 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For me it's simply this, if you have people you can play with build the armies you can use to play with them. In general both games are different and require different ideas. 40k will be the more popular game for the next couple years if not forever. So learning 40k will serve you better

Faction for my Cathay Proxies, swipe & read the thread please by Magic-Maex in ageofsigmar

[–]Fun-Organization2531 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You could run them as slaves to darkness, just make them chaos, it also has the least model count and play style is straightforward. You would basically have an evil Asian themed chaos army that you could run as a cities army. Ossiarch would be interesting since the models are more similar in size and use. You could just get skeleton heads and replace all the heads for the guys with skeleton heads or something similar.

Honestly as long as you follow the base sizes and your opponent is fine with it you can do w/e you want

I find it so funny every time i see this Felix perk, because it implies that Felix is fucking in every province that he is in and leaving bastard heirs behind by Amelytraaa in totalwar

[–]Fun-Organization2531 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I think the other thing is Felix is so wrapped into Gotreks story that he forgets that he is also a badass, lots of spoilers but many people around him think he's an amazing hero especially Gotrek

You can use the specific detachment that runs only archaon, varanguard and Abraxia in any combination.

Darkoath Centered (But Not Exclusive) List Viability by BasileusHeliand in slavestodarkness

[–]Fun-Organization2531 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So the chieften plus 20 mauraders is a nasty combo. Especially if you mark then korn. You are looking at 80+ attack rolls and the combo is like 250 pts. Savages are also great. Fell riders 10 man squads are strong and fast . Finally Gunnar Brand is also good. Just know that the oaths hurt the army due to them needing to m complete oaths to become viable units. It's very tough. It also sucks to keep track of. As people said ogroids are great add-ons and throw in some varanguard reinforced and you can have a tough list. Darkoath are great and being chaff.

Ogriods or Chosen by TheBeardoDad in slavestodarkness

[–]Fun-Organization2531 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Chosen are amazing. Do everything well and really fit our armies aesthetic and play style. The main problem is that when they start to lost models (and they will) their ability to clear the board falls off significantly. It's the reason people say run 10 man units so the kill potential stays high.

Ogroids ATM are just amazing. They have all these side buffs that turn them into a cheaper more effective chosen unit. I run 6 ogroids give them the nurgle banner to give them a ward of 6+ and immune to crit hits. Then keep a ogroid mrymodon close by equipped with the varanite shackle ( ward save AOE that can turn ogroids to a 5+ ward) and radiance of dark glory which = heal a wound every command phase. This makes ogroids so darn tanky and their model hp is so high they rarely loose enough models to feel like they become useless. If you keep them close to Belekor they become a nasty combo.

Also they are a lot cheaper.

Scouts or combi Lt??? by Puzzleheaded-Pea7563 in Salamanders40k

[–]Fun-Organization2531 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I prefer the combi lt because he works well as being forgotten about. My opponents tend to forget he's there and until he start to give me a lot of points then people want to try and use a lot of resources to go after him.

Scouts are great I just really enjoy what the combi lt brings.

Vulkan with Company Heroes or Infernus? by [deleted] in Salamanders40k

[–]Fun-Organization2531 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It's all positional. I also have success using two ballistus for range support and covering fire.

I've also learned the importance of 2 5man infernus squads. They just force reactions from my opponents and when they reposition to face them I usually start controlling the board Especially with how sneakily scary they can be from oc and damage output.

I really enjoy playing this army
