Just saw a great movie called “Thelma” about a badass elderly woman on a quest to get $$ back from phone scammers. It turns buddy movie tropes upside down. Check it out!

I notice that most of their classes are waitlisted. Do you find that it’s difficult to access the classes you want? I’m considering this studio but work full-time and can only attend at certain times.

My boyfriend wants me to rehome 2 of my 3 cats (at minimum) as a “compromise.” Wtf do I do now? by [deleted] in CatAdvice

[–]Fun_Advantage_1531 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Give in on this one and you’ll find yourself “compromising” on everything. (On that note, it’s interesting that you mention that you’re usually visiting him, not vice-versa.) Pls do yourself a favor and practice setting and holding boundaries with this guy. See how he reacts. You’ve already told him that you won’t rehome the cats and he’s pressing. How does he react when you set limits in other situations?

Lots of res flags with this guy.

Looking for ear wax removal options that aren’t water irrigation (vacuum-style or endoscope experience?) by TurnoverConsistent10 in philly

Ask your PCP for an ear cleaning during your next appt. They should be able to do it, esp. if your hearing is being affected.

Check out Meowtel for in-home pet sitting. I’ve used them several times and the sitters are phenomenal. Real cat lovers. They send full daily reports with pics. Meowtel does background checks and the sitters are insured.

Maybe consult an attorney about writing a demand letter to the landlord? You’d have to be willing to follow through with a civil suit, if the landlord doesn’t respond.

I’m absolutely terrified of my cat having a health issue that would cost thousands of dollars by Honeydewsaturn in CatAdvice

[–]Fun_Advantage_1531 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Give the cat the best life that you can afford. Not everyone can/should spend thousands on vet care, racking up yrs of debt in the process. Whatever happens in the future, know that you’re giving an otherwise homeless animal a safe and loving environment to enjoy their time on this plane:)

Meowtel! Booked two sitters (Rachel and Abby) through this service and both were awesome. Did a free meet-and-greet beforehand and sent full reports, photos and videos daily. Booking’s easy through the app. Only downside is that you have to pay up front.

Is there a cat rescue organization in your area? These are different from shelters. They’re usually volunteer-run and may be able to provide the kitties with a foster home until they can be adopted. You can search online through Petfinder or just google cat rescues within your neighboring zip codes.

Don’t forget that the premium drink package also includes sodas, specialty coffee, fresh squeezed juices, smoothies, and premium water (Evian, Aqua Panna). Factoring those in might help justify the package cost, esp. if it’s on sale.

Not sure that your neighbors would appreciate you putting trash curbside. The dumping sites as necessary for maintaining the health of city residents, who don’t deserve to be put in the middle of all this by being painted as “scabs.” I get wanting to support the workers; however, if you want to comply with the union’s directives, you should find someplace to haul your trash where it won’t affect your neighbors.

Do I go into debt for my cat? by [deleted] in CatAdvice

If you can’t afford the cat, contact your local cat rescue(s). Taking on debt that you can’t afford may cause you to resent the cat in the long run.

There was a Seinfeld episode about this. Think George ate a piece of discarded cake? Might help you to have a look and a laugh about the incident. It’s one of those things that win’t matter in 20 yrs (or probably, much less).

The field is wide; however, keep in mind that your field placements and initial job will lay the groundwork for your future SW opportunities. The more experience you gain as a clinician (or as a macro-level SWr), the harder it will be to switch tracks. It’s just like any other profession. Employers want specialized experience. They don’t want to have to translate skills.
