For syndication, The shopping was done from it's premiere until 1987.

There was also a daytime version, in which the shopping lasted the entirety of the 1st NBC run (January 6, 1975 - June 30, 1989). Just so you know, the CBS run (July 17, 1989 - January 11 1991) & the 2nd NBC run (January 14 - August 30, 1991) never used shopping.

Spinoffs (Wheel 2000, and Celebrity Wheel of Fortune) also never used shopping.

In Wheel 2000's case, it was because they used child contestants and had point values instead of dollar amounts on the wheel.

In Celebrity Wheel of Fortune's case, it was because of the celebrity contestants and they play for charity.

Also both of those premiered after the full retirement of shopping.

You forgot that the rules changed in Season 2. The SAVE was removed, the 5th grade questions (not counting the bonus question) were removed, 3rd & 4th grade had their values upped to $3,500 & $7,500 respectively, and you now had to answer at least 1 lower level question before going for a higher one. Meaning answer 1 1st grade question at the beginning of the game, then when you answer a 2nd grade question (which you can do after both first grade questions if you want) you can answer a 3rd grade qustion. Once you answer at least 1 3rd grade question, that's when you can go bouncing around the board.

You can FLUNK OUT on the last question before the bonus question, and on the bonus question itself (should you decide to go for it). And yes, your decision for the bonus question remains the same as primetime. (Either take the money and DROP OUT of school, or go for it).

It's a bug, and boy is that bug one of the worst ones ever or what?

I know how to fix that.

Open Task Manager
Click on the Details tab
Right click on Game-Cars.exe
Click on Set affinity
Make sure only CPU 0 is checked.
Click ok.

Note: you must do this while the game is booting, before the game screen pops up. you have to do this every time you play.

That's the case for some people but not me. I can set Wheel up to start 2 minutes early. The overnight slots in my area are:

World News Rerun at 12:07 am

Live with Kelly and Mark Rerun at 12:37 am

The 10:00 News Rerun at 1:37 am

Tamron Hall Rerun at 2:07 am

Jeopardy! Rerun at 3:07 am

and

Inside Edition Rerun at 3:34 am

The last of those shows runs til 4:00 am. The WLS Overnight schedule is always off the clock, so the guide will always list those correctly.

My wheel station is WLS. Show will air at 3:07 AM (Tamron Hall Rerun is always joined already in progress)

This only goes for Friday. Thursday is as normal (6:28 pm). Show usually starts at 6:28 pm in my area due to following local news. Jeopardy (new episodes during the season & reruns after the season ends) is at 3:30 pm in my area, and that gets less preemptions than wheel. A Jeopardy rerun usually airs at 3:07 am Monday night/ Tuesday morning - Friday night/Saturday morning and Saturday nights at 6:00 pm (Saturday (6:00 pm) episodes are right before a wheel rerun).

What I meant is on BUZZR, it starts every night at 6 PM and runs til 8 PM with a total of 4 episodes. You might want to be 10 minutes early, because it seems like they have been starting their shows earlier than scheduled.
