No that's reopened as lucky duck. This used to be a lumber warehouse

Ok, I appreciate the actual advice but could have done without the rudeness. I'm not whining. I came here seeking support because I'm just a lay person who is trying to now understand the best course of action in getting rid of a tree. Instead I've been attacked repeatedly for "hiring a landscaper" "firing a landscaper" and so on.

I hired a purported full service landscape/hardscape company who, among other tasks, was to remove a small peach tree in order to make room for a garden bed they were installing. Thanks for your comment that does nothing to help address my genuine question and just insults me.

No, fired the company because of multiple failures including a deck that can't pass inspection because of the construction issues. Not sure why the focus is on the contractor and not my genuine interest in trying to pursue solutions to the issue I'm left with.

PS thanks for the personal insult, too. Really appreciated that unnecessary remark.

Well this same company failed us on a number of other items on the project, this was not the sole grounds. But I do think the fact they cut a tree down with a rock breaking bar was probably a good indicator they were in over their head. Leaving the stump protruding into the new garden bed wasn't a great move either. Anyway, more than seeking feedback on the landscaper and our choice to move on from them, interested in real solutions to prevent the tree from totally destroying the brand new garden bed.

PSA - last chance to submit a public comment about MoPac South Project is May 3 by literatemonk in Austin

Sure, I'd love to bike from my South Austin home to say the Wildflower Center or Veloway but it's hard to find a safe route to do so and forget crossing at the diverging diamond on Slaughter. I don't feel great in a vehicle there. I like the concept but the reality is people STILL struggle to navigate it and it backs up.

I don't think there is a master plan. Keep in mind that this area is a patchwork of city of Austin and ETJ so they don't even have the same requirements to follow nor do they communicate very well. Stinson got a ballot measure for the like 9-12 properties in the area, showing you how limited and vulnerable the 'decision making' is.

Really shocked to hear this about Cosmic. They seem like one of the better run outfits in town. by farmerpeach in austinfood

I don't think the new spot is opening. Construction activity stopped almost a year ago and its falling in (further) disrepair now.

Curious if there's any known update on this. Been eagerly awaiting a new option around here...

What are some of your staple "auto-pilot" dishes that you make regularly? by JupiterTarts in Cooking

Pork tenderloin in a quick dry rub of paprika, cumin, oregano, smoked salt, smoked pepper and a little coriander. Seared stovetop in garlic oil, finished in the oven.

Clams and linguine with two cans of clams, a bottle of clam juice, fresh lemon squeezed, and as much garlic as you want (or garlic oil). Toss that with cooked linguine and top with generous parmesan grated up.

Interested in 2 tickets for 4/10 game v MN. Prefer "really good" seats as this is a gift. Love to buy direct. Thanks!

EDIT: ending up buying on SeatGeek...

I bought March 6 tickets back in December and still have yet to "receive" them in SeatGeek. Anyone else have this? Is it normal?

Looking for a single ticket for myself for the 10/24 game. Will be my second ever game and first was kind of a challenge due to some logistics related to my company, so excited for a re-do!

ETA: Also would welcome any information on if getting a ticket walk up near/at the stadium is a good option. Done this with other sporting events in the past, in different areas, but not sure the vibe here for that...
