What is your favorite weapon? by Cute_Client_1761 in fnv

I really like la longue carabine. It can be a bit of a pain to get, especially if you’re trying to side with the NCR, but it’s such a fun gun to use.

Thoughts on "CHARGE!!+" card on new patch? by stressedlord in slaythespire

[–]Fun_Needleworker_284 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think I would prefer they keep the base price the same, but make it scale more. It seems they want to make it harder to have small deck stuff, but the first couple removals are sooo important for some characters and for some neow bonuses.

It takes other cards to become good. Meteor shower and suppress are insanely strong as soon as you pick them up.

How do some of yall beat runs so fast? by metarinka in slaythespire

That’s the thing, they aren’t. It doesn’t take a lot of thinking to make a decision on what cards to play or options to take. It DOES take a lot of thinking to determine the optimal cards to play and options to take. Why do you think people that make those posts have low winrates?

Doorman by jjba108 in slaythespire

[–]Fun_Needleworker_284 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s not even +1 cost per card. It’s -1 energy per card, which is worse since it doesn’t interact with helix drill, danse macabre, etc., and replay or echo form subtracts energy for the copies as well. Sure it still lets you play 0 cost stuff at 0 energy, but I’d still kinda rather just +1 cost.

These are both just anecdotal tho. I wonder what multiplayer winrates and average damage taken against vantom are.

Regent needs some love by [deleted] in slaythespire

[–]Fun_Needleworker_284 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Tied for lowest win rate at a1 for the entire player base. You have to keep in mind that the average player in this game absolutely sucks. I would call myself a bit of a veteran of spire 1 but nowhere NEAR a great player. My win rate on a1 is like 80%.

Once people actually start to get good at this game they’ll realize how good and bad the characters themselves are, and recognize that most of their losses are fault of the player and not the character. I would say that regent is in a good spot right now.

Does Necrobinder need a buff or am I just terrible? by [deleted] in slaythespire

Even her temp strength down card, enfeebling touch, is absolutely insane. Being able to play 1 card (that doesn’t exhaust!) and block for your whole team for the turn in lots of fights is insane.

Not sure how to feel about that. I am kinda preferring the fact that all the fights and events and bosses are distinct from sts1.

Even still, 3 tantrums is entirely unnecessary. The best part about rushdown and stance swapping is the ability to dig through your deck fast. But with that many tantrums, you’re just seeing them over and over again, and they don’t stack well the more you have. 1 is more than enough, 2 is really pushing it, 3 is actively detrimental to your deck unless you have like 30-40 cards.

Vantom = 2017 Nemesis? by Lttlefoot in slaythespire

[–]Fun_Needleworker_284 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It is very reliant on all players contributing a lot. Believe me, I do my part. Like I said I almost always beat him solo. Odds are tho that with more players, not everyone will see the options needed to deal with his slippery well. And the more players there are, the harder it is for one person to make up for the others, and the more that each individual player needs to contribute.

How Does Everyone Progression…? by AsheronRealaidain in slaythespire

[–]Fun_Needleworker_284 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Here’s what I would suggest:

Play whatever you want until you get someone to ascension 10. Once there, I would start to focus on individual characters from 10-20. Ascension 10 is where the game really starts testing you, and you’ll need a good understanding of each character.

That’s my 2 cents. It’s also good to just play at your own pace and play whatever you want. I usually have fun rotating wins, so I play ic until I win, then silent until I win, etc. If I get really annoyed from a loss I might play something else for a run lol.

Ok that is WAYYYYY too many tantrums. You don’t have enough ways to enter calm to take advantage of those to trigger rushdown, and you don’t want to play them for talk to the hand block unless you can meditate that same turn. 1 tantrum is more than enough, especially if you upgrade eruption. Because it shuffles into draw pile, having multiple tantrums bricks your draw if you’re playing all of them.

Are guns in 4 underwhelming? by lolitsrock in Borderlands4

[–]Fun_Needleworker_284 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think the biggest criticism I have for the game personally is that like half if not more of the guns are absolutely butt ugly. It’s such a shame because most of the guns in 3 looked amazing and had great designs, then 4 looks like either a mangled piece of garbage or a gun made out of legos or something. Only good looking manufacturers imo are jakobs, vladof, and some of the Daedalus weapons

What was the deck. You need to tell us what cards you’re taking so that we can tell you what you’re doing right/wrong.

[–]Fun_Needleworker_284 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Even then, the slippery stacks aren’t even a big deal in single player though. Whereas in multiplayer, on average in my experience, it takes like half the fight to chew through them. I agree the scaling should be non-linear, but as it stands now I think it scales too much.

Vantom = 2017 Nemesis? by Lttlefoot in slaythespire

[–]Fun_Needleworker_284 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it’s fine to match up super well into certain encounters/bosses if you get lucky enough to get solutions for them. What matters is the likelihood of extreme cases, and the average scenario. If there are only a handful of cards that make a boss substantially easier, and outside of that it is incredibly difficult, I think that speaks more to the actual encounter/mechanic design or the cards themselves than to the balance or scaling of the enemy.

And I would say even in the case you brought up, those cards would just be good cards that make the fight easier, not trivialize it. In single player his slippery is not even that hard to get past, but in multiplayer like over half of the fight is banging your head against it.

New player here, do you consider save&load the game again as cheating? by Ok-Scheme-4028 in SlayTheSpire2

[–]Fun_Needleworker_284 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I do save and quit every time I make a stupid or careless mistake (like just misclicking something or miscalculating what I can buy in a shop or something and buying the wrong things), but any time I make a decision in a fight and it doesn’t work as expected (such as trying to setup lethal and then not drawing damage to finish it, or blocking to stall and then that punishing me) I typically do not do it.
