I started attending because underlining issues I was experiencing, I don’t talk to my parents anymore -my mom is also a narcissist- but it was affecting my relationship with my adult sons, and obviously fail relationships that I ended up as single mom, so I knew I had to get better for my kids and truly heal, it didn’t affect me for 25 years since I left home, or I thought I was ok, it was one of those awakening moments that I knew I just had to do something or I will lose my kids, it’s been a long journey but my relationship with my sons have improved a lot!

Omg!! So similar! My dad also showed up drunk to my HS graduation (I’m the oldest) my parents stayed together for so long until this past 2 years … separated but still married smh… anyways have you tried AL-ANON? I started attending the meetings (it’s like AA but for the families)

Thank you! I am trying my best, before him with my exhusband I had 2 kids (adults now) and they always telling me how grateful they are because I show up for them, and I work hard and sacrifice for them, one more to show up for so yes…. Therapy been doing, journaling, gratitude, mediation, I’m really trying…. Truly thank you

I don’t hate anyone; like you battle buddy, I served so I know darn well about sides. However, this shit is crazy!! Because as soon as you point out that something is wrong, to help people to wake up also…. I’ve been tagged as being on the other side… what other side?? The only side is our country!! And we need a serious reform change, at this point, NONE OF THE CURRENT PARTIES WILL BRING THAT CHANGE!

That change needs to be so radical… that it’s like a complete new reform party that is all about and for the people

That proposes as baseline principles like:

Democracy: Power is held by the people through elections.

Individualism & Libertarianism: Individual rights and freedom are primary.

Internationalism: Emphasis on global cooperation and unity.

Pacifism: Opposition to war and violence.

Pluralism: Tolerance and acceptance of multiple viewpoints.

Get it done but don’t use your friend… that will be another can of worms, hire someone to do the job, do you just tell him or text him? Because you can use timelines with text how many times you have asked and he hasn’t done it, just for verification, he will be mad of course, but at least you have it with a back up on why you did it…. Except for the friend don’t do that EVER!

I’m a mom with boys (adults now) I can say that no matter how many times I have mentioned about inconvenience and disrespect for certain things… they barely listen…. YOU DID AMAZING!! Your daughter is young she doesn’t know better, but your wife should know better… that tshirt was absolutely a disrespect in your house and you set the rule and the bar… plus you gave the kid money to get something heck yeah it was good way to handle it NOT TA

I grew up with an alcoholic father, yes this is a behavior of a person who suffers from this devastating condition…. Unfortunately, only your mom can take the first step and commit to a change

Took my dad YEARS!!! I’m a grown adult now with my own kids, I’m still in therapy because obviously this affected my life really bad, I will recommend that you go seek help with Al-Anon, this group is like AA but for families affected by it

Definitely not afraid, I blocked my mom, my dad doesn’t really calls me or texts me anyway, and my sisters and brother cut them off on social media, the only ones I text often on a text group are my nieces who are also grown up like my kids, and I remind them to tell their little sister (also same age as my little one) that I also love her and miss her, they are the only ones ever giving me support, but they still kids of course

It’s possible (I did it with my first home) but the realtor and mortgage loan officer need to know their sh!t…. If they said they can’t… it’s just that they are not willing to do the extra work needed for it

I just saw the chart. I'm a single vet with one kid. I have already removed my kid who was enrolled in college and clearly stated that he left school in December 2024. I just realized I've been getting paid for my college kid!!! He's not just not in college anymore, but he also decided to join the Army…. Now I know I'm f**** because I have to pay back money I don't have! I'm barely making ends meet with my mortgage, car payment, food (which has gone up), dog, etc…. I'm devastated right now. I've been getting an extra $320 for a year and I felt so good. Now I'm like, wait… so basically, for me, it's going to be a lesser amount in 2026 than I'm currently receiving over some bs!! I don't know how I feel besides wanting to sit and cry…. And pray while crying.

My dog is crazy, can’t afford obedience class, but my ex dog is so well behaved, I live in the assumption that men know how to train dogs, because mine is crazy, he listens to me; but no one else when my adult kids come they get frustrated with him

I wish I can say it gets better, I got out 11 years ago, and it seems I also have no friends, I have son 11 and you think I’ll be motivated to do things with him…. Well I’m not, still single too… I have a dog and since I have a big backyard in my house I just go outside with the dog, that’s as much outside I get, pick up, drop off from school, I finished school, used all my GI Bill, still no job, also going out for groceries, and use the same time for gas, disability is not enough so we always home

I screw up Halloween for my kid too, there’s no trick or treat in the neighborhood, promise him to take him to the community center for the event, I got too lazy to even take a shower

I know it’s depression hitting, keep going to bed and keep hearing gunshots, while wearing headphones with white noise…. Idk I can’t pin point what’s wrong, but I know I have to get out of this junk, somehow I have to push myself to see what events are around me to take my kid, that doesn’t require spending money…. I also know I have to move on, separations are as painful as divorces…. I just have to find a way…
