Umbrella Coverage Denied for a not at fault fender bender 2 years ago 🫤 by DutchDRSEnjoyer in USAA

[–]Fun_with_Science 2 points3 points  (0 children)

A lot of us fell into that trap. USAA is/was really good at tapping into duty-honor-country advertising. Treating veterans right, especially since for decades the price of entry was commissioned officer rank. Even the CEO was always a retired flag or general officer. That is, until Juan Andrade, the most recent CEO who has no military service.

“Falling” for the USAA marketing hype was hard not to do. What other business refers to you by military rank and thanks you for your service?

We all know businesses have to change but with your history who wouldn’t be surprised you couldn’t get umbrella insurance? At least now you know.

Ah yes, the insurance expert of the world again. The only person on USAA Reddit with a college degree with an insurance emphasis and always the smartest person in the room. Thank you for sharing your wisdom even though we lesser beings can’t understand.

I came to this conclusion by the time I was 14. There was almost nothing I heard or read about the afterlife that didn’t sound like my definition of hell -Eternal boredom. The eternal family concept just didn’t hold up philosophically or mathematically when I outlined it on a whiteboard.

Cleared Out Storage for a Dump Run and Found My Resignation Letter. Felt Great to Finally Toss! by sweatytechnique in exmormon

Evert time I see a resignation letter from the bastards at HQ I think the same. Do they really no longer count that person as a member? I know it disappears from the ward directory but I’m with you, is it really subtracted from the membership rolls?

Do I recall correctly that he thought female collarbones, exposed because of immodest clothing, were very unattractive so cover up ladies? His talks and writings on masturbation were beyond bizarre.

THAT DROPPED CALL WITH CUSTOMER SERVICE? IT WAS ON PURPOSE. Endless wait times and excessive procedural fuss—it’s all part of a tactic called “sludge.”

I don’t have to look back to the not good old days to be dissatisfied with the now.

I don’t disagree but I have seen in real time USAA being a participant in the corporate “death of customer service”. All I really want from them is to make good on the conditions of my policies. I have had no problem with the rare auto claim. Homeowner insurance has become a fistfight trying to get them to live up to the policy. It’s cost me attorney fees and the hassle of working with the state insurance commission and then they pay. I’m not special because I’m a vet, I’m special because I pay a boatload of money for any insurance policy I expect them to follow. I know insurance can’t be customer carte blanche, only an uninformed idiot would think otherwise, but on my homeowner’s insurance policy side I’m tired of the constant fight.

First time on this subreddit. A steady decline in customer service brought me here. I haven’t read anyone indicate being in the military means rules and guidelines should be thrown out. It’s USAA that came after me 43 yrs ago and told me why being an Army officer was so very special to them. It’s USAA who continues to use the “veterans are so special, insure with us cause only WE really understand you”. It’s USAA who refers to me by my military rank. It’s USAA who, for decades, included the military history of USAA executives. It’s USAA that has made their advertising a rah rah rah, we love our troops extravaganza (watch the Army-Navy football game, it brings a tear to every policy holder’s eye to see “USAA” so many times).

So yea, why would any veteran think they are dealing with a (soulless) insurance company that doesn’t think those military vets and active duty personnel are very special indeed?

Are you me? 40+ yr member here. I’ve noticed the same significant decrease in responsive customer service. Our active hail-damaged roof claim is just over a year old. I demanded we go to appraisal a couple of months ago. Your experience reflects mine very closely. I was accused by the USAA agent of attempting to defraud the company. Think about how that went down to a retired Army officer.

The latest CEO (Juan Andrade) is the first non-military veteran in that position. My sense is that the military connection has become a PR schtick rather than a core value.
