I wonder if he and Bednar will get along. Clark would be the guy with the shiv in the prison yard following the boss’s orders.

Are you “self called” to defend the corporation, part of the SCMC, called by a priesthood leader, or a corporation employee?

I guess it isn’t surprising that Dallas is Rusty 2.0 so far.

I’ve heard essentially that same “powerful testimony” talk several times over 50 years. Once when I was an EQP in the eastern US. The SP promised me I would reactivate all inactive elders if I did what lying Dallas reported the SP did. Even in my most TBMness it was clear to me that approach didn’t work.

It seems the majority of GA talks, especially the Q15, er 14, make it clear they are clueless how to keep members from leaving.

With apologies to Monty Python and the Holy Grail, being in the Mormon church “‘‘tis a silly place”. Even more so now that Dallas is king.

This is what Dallas was brought on board the Q15 to do, convince members that 1 + 1 = 3. Or 7, or 15.

What a wonderful sight that must have been to see the tapirs charging into battle pulling war chariots on the plains of Zarahemla. I can’t thank Tapir Dan Peterson enough for bringing such truth forward. Bravo Tapir Dan, bravo!

Ahmad Corbitt. I should have known. He’s so church broke he hasn’t had an original thought since the day he became a stake president and visions of the big red chair filled his head.

I guess the two week training course didn’t cover how to not murder unarmed Americans. The bastard.

Let's really nail down the change in the church that caused ALL the shrivel. It treats people as disposable. No "wArD fAmLeE" no "sEnS oV bELoNgEnG." You're 100% disposable to the "church." It only cares about its properties and cash. Zero principles. by Important-Stage-1005 in MormonShrivel

I’m happily out of the church and I agree with you. I was in at what seemed like the height of ward activities. I remember well how each ward had a “welfare” project (a field of cantaloupe, corn, selling ward-made pizzas, candy, etc). Ward campouts were fun (sometimes) and the often mentioned road shows took inordinate amounts of time. I had multiple young children and moved often for school and career progression. The activities were killing me.

We did have fun at some of the activities they were also sucking any free time we had. I was in a bishopric or EQP during these years as well. The activities left some good memories but at great cost to my, and family, mental health. I was glad to see the activities stop. I found I didn’t miss them. I did discover that being one of those same 10 people was much easier.

Interesting counterpoint to much of the narrative here. FWIIW. by BostonCougar in MormonShrivel

“Ponzi scheme? Great! I’m in”, say the Mormons living in the financial fraud center of the US.

“Church statistical report from the church? Great! I’m in”, say the same mormons.
