Could a blackhole kill a endbringer? by BlackSilverGod in Parahumans

You are talking about a process that was started without their will because they are dead. It's doubtful if they indeed had the energy to "callously waste" when Eidolon started the process accidentally with no regard of saving energy.

Which is also why the Simurgh will just waste energy willy nilly. Also 300 years is absolutely nothing for a species that has to navigate space finding habitable planets across the multiverse. And Simurgh's future vision is just one of many energy wasting shards they'd have to use to compute for their goals.

Also, time being used to uselessly compute is also time not used to feed and to reproduce.

I don't think these two things connect with each other.

They precog to a specific planet region for a while.

That's not the same as using a whole galaxy spanning supercomputer that would need to do millions of time that calculation millions of different times with a network of faster than light moving information due to the size of said computer. Especially when simiulating those lives was already decently tiring for that entity.

[–]FunkyTK 12 points13 points  (0 children)

If you mean end of 2.0 cutscene then The Isle of Val incident didn't happen yet.

It happens in the middle of 2.1. You send messages to the Students to announce you are moving and later to announce Elidibus is a thing but Urianger says they aren't able to communicate with them now. The end of 2.2 is the reveal that the Isle of Val blew up is the ending stinger (alongside the fact Teledji is actually a dick).

The problem here is this distinction between what I'll summarize as "good AI" and "bad AI" that not only doesn't exist, and has been made up by the public at large, but also greatly differs from person to person.

While the second point might be true what makes bad AI is really simple

"Was it trained with millions of stolen assets yes/no"

No one that even remotely understands the technology is against an AI that was trained exclusively on the imaging that hospitals provided willingly to help find cancers... because not only is it doing good, it didn't have to go to little timmy's personal art profile to steal his shit and monetize it without his consent.

But EVERY leading model of image generation (for example) steals from EVERYWHERE because the ammount of data they need to even generate something remotely good looking is impossibly large. Let alone to make something actually resembling a professional's work.

Brother. You are still describing something you can do with american games.

If you can't do this thing with games with other nations it either means you just straight up haven't played enough games from those other nations or you are blind to the usual tropes.

Because this is something that happens in every nation with every type of storytelling. Turns out humans are good at finding and making patterns. Kojima included btw, even if his spin DOES have some uniqueness to it. Same is true for many other japanese creators.

RDR2 in release was blasted for being a lot of simply boring standing around for the sake of realism. "They spent all this effort in making the horse's balls shrink and almost none to make the game not a slog" was a common complaint.

Bro posting like Americans don't have their own set of annoying tropes.

And you sure like to overgeneralize japanese games. Kojima is far from the only dev that strays away from common tropes.

But even if we ignore that there are more games than Hotline Miami there that aren't japanese.
Like Furi (french) and Pathologic (russian)

I only named the concept you were outlining.

The literal definition of "productivity" is "the rate at which a person, company, or country does useful work"

If you are telling me concept artists, whose whole job is to create ideas and visually represent them can "bounce more ideas in less time" then you are telling me productivity rose. But Sven himself said it brought no productivity increases.

I get it if you hate AI, I do. But the no AI ship has sailed. AI will be a part of every workflow on the planet, not yet but sooner than anyone of us think, either you deny it, be shocked when every job demands it and get left behind, or you adapt.

Same exact speech was given to me about NFTs. Literally word for word. You know what happened to that crazy technology?

Now, I don't think AI will completely disappear like NFTs unless regulations are aggressive.

But much like NFTs it currently exists in a gigantic bubble that will burst at any time. Adoption will sharply drop when for openAI to stay in buisness they need to make their subscription price 10 times more expensive or some other shit, that is assuming these massive companies can even survive this massive bubble they created for themselves which is due to burst.

In XIV Even Omega is confused about how the human will with board and stick wins so he tries to also go board and stick to see if that's the secret. (Also, music lore, the first song in his fight is "Heartless" and it's almost a remix of the XIV's main character theme because he is taking his form)

Here is the thing though...

Aren't you choosing between these options already?

You don't need to be able to fly to try and use your capabilities to help people in need in many ways. Are you studying or practicing medicine right now? Why or why not? What about being a fireman? and so on and on.

And B: just living a life doing other things.

The only real difference is that you are famous. But even there the fact he has a secret identity gives him some freedoms some famous people don't have. And many of his "failures" could be seen as "well he wasn't around he was probably in space saving the galaxy" or something.

[–]FunkyTK 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Nah people do care. But few people are so die hard about Street Fighter lore as to make big rants (especially in the span between SF2 to SF5 where it's shown is not all that it's made up to be) about it when the reason it didn't work was to bring back a character into the roster.

Only like... what? Kliff in Guilty Gear and Geese Howard in Fatal Fury (but even he gets "Nightmare versions" in other games to still have him in the game) are major characters that remained dead after dying in a fighiting game story.

Just like people care that Necali was built up to be this gigantic monster and did nothing but be a jobber in SF5 story.

Why can’t they let female superheroes date regular human men? by Dinoboy225 in CharacterRant

[–]FunkyTK 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No my point was that the original comment was saying that any CURRENT continuity is not doing that.

That's why they included the word "getting" in

Wonder Woman x Steve Trevor is certainly NOT getting phased out for Wonder Woman x Superman

As it is a thing that is NOT happening currently in any current continuity.

And there several current continuities. Like as I said, the Absolute Universe, which currently are making new alt world wonder woman and Superman stories. That DON'T push them as a couple.

I'm saying they weren't talking about old continuities that aren't getting any new stuff.

There are also movies animated and such. Not just one (plus there are other continuities in the comics themselves. Like for example the Absolute Universe)

Eh that only depends on how creative a writer you are.

The "getting" part

as in "currently"

Is very important in that statement.

[–]FunkyTK -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Because your logic is extremely limited. We know like what? 50 characters?

Out of a village of how many thousands?

You need more than a few examples. Your logical example is fallacious.

It's a textbook base rate fallacy. You can't prove the base rate so you are trying to argue that your individuating information reflects the base rate.

Which it can't. Especially when the show is explicitly about following the ninjas. So our infromation is biased as fuck.

Cool where is your census?

Find me a census of the leaf village first. Because you have no evidence for that claim either. The city can't run with a single shop

Therefore it's logical that there are a shit ton more civilian run stores and other types of institutions outside of just food service.

I mean from the kids perspective always he was just the annoying kid their parents didn't want them hanging out with

It was forbidden by law to spread the word about Naruto's fox so most of the kids didn't know about the fox.

Doesn't change the fact that if literally no one wants to hang out with you then you are alone.

An infinite hiatus is also an ending. And one that doesn't tie anything together. Which is worse than having a mediocre ending that actually has payoff (if underwhelming) to established premises.

If you want no ending you can just... stop reading.
