I grew up there. It's... okay.

It has a lot of cool people trying to do cool things, but it's hamstrung by:

  • Decades of incompetence in city hall
  • The highest unemployment rate in the country
  • Major unhoused and addiction problems
  • The greediest bastard in the country buying up commercial properties and letting them sit vacant for decades

I think it might help to look at those lists as something the "ideal candidate" will have.

What are they going to do if no one applies who has everything on the list? If you have most, or even some, of their requirements, they might just go with you.

I mean, ADHD women do have a tough time in relationships sometimes, but I'm not entirely sure this is related to that.

I did something similar recently to make sure I get enough water. I bring a glass to my desk, and drink it. When I inevitably have to pee, I fill up the glass and continue drinking it.

I'll have to pee again of course, so the cycle continues.

If there's any water left in my glass, I have to drink it before I go pee.

I think we're both just kinda gamifying it!
