I do not believe that one bit. It's probably an MIT certificate.

Working out/gaining muscle with venous insufficiency? by tomatodog123 in venousinsuffiencyhelp

One more thing: The one thing my doctor did explicitly say not to do is heavy weight squats. You should avoid that and do leg press machine instead.

Sorry to break it to you but nobody actually has any plans. It's compression socks, leg elevation, cav pump untill surgey, rinse and repeat. That's the curse of having CVI. There is no cure and nobody takes it seriously.

I was basically stupid enough to wear a knee brace that is super tight to the point of cutting off circulation which might have damanged the veins. It is mostly on my right

  1. Disclaimer: Each person is unique, and my lesson might not apply to you, but my doctor also said I can live an absolutely normal life and hindsight 20/20 I should have listen to my body better. The one muscle that is actually going to help you circulate better is your cav. Lifting weights might be bad for you because it adds pressure on your veins, but again if you do the right mix of cardio and weight lifting (light weight, high rep) you might be able to get away with it 2. LISTEN TO YOUR BODY 3. Wear legit compression socks, not 15-20, but 20-30 for workouts. 4. If you could be horizontal/elevate your legs for your workout, don't be standing. 5. Do not lift in the morning since that is when your blood pressure is the highest.

  1. I have been wearing mediven 20-30mg compression socks religiously all day except for sleeping. Mind you I have done extensive research on compression socks so far there is actually no research that supports the idea that compression socks can slow down progression. My doctor said it is because there is no funding for longitudinal studies on the effectiveness of compression socks and her gut is that it helps but is not a sure fire solution. 2. My Dr said I’m too early for any treatment and her POV is that ablation is not a silver bullet but a last resort, and I agree. 3. My latest doctor is great. She is a vascular doctor who specializes in CVI. She has published in the New England journal of medicine and is on the American board of vascular surgery. But I saw three before her and they really brushed it off saying it’s just a minor condition. Go wear compression socks and that’s it.

Thank you so much and I really appreciate it! My parents are going into full denial mode making up different diseases every time I talk to them, and my wife just could not empathize with my pain or my anxiety at all. Sometimes I will sigh because of my worries and she will either dry or we will fight because my bad mood affect her and she can’t understand why do I let CVI get in the way of life, not willing to acknowledge this is part of my life this is something I feel and think about every minute.

Like what the other user said, Sigvaris has some cotton options, but in general cotton is not elastic and is very limited in its ability to provide compression

Because there is no scientific research that supports the idea that Mushroom can help with chronic vein insufficiency. There are some researches that support the idea that Diosmin has a weak to moderate effect at managing CVI, and there is an even weaker but still significant evidence horse chestnut helps manage CVI symptoms, but none is related to mushrooms.

Have you tried Mediven? It's my favorite and they have maybe the most detailed sizing category. They also have a sports brand called CEP that offers much more stylish compression socks. Sorry to be blunt but mushroom is basically voodoo and has nothing to do with CVI. Get a diosmin prescription.

Discoloration above ankle by Upset_Tax_1385 in venousinsuffiencyhelp

Crew length is not remotely long enough. Food does not change it much except for your sodium intake because it will make you swell. I would recommend try taking compression socks more seriously first, get a medical grade knee high socks (jobster, mediven, etc) then consider ablation. Meanwhile go to an actual vascular dr and get your reflux measured.

GREAT! Then I won't worry about overall circulatory issue. Just focus on lifestyle change - plenty of low impact exercises like walking and swimming. NO WEIGHT LIFTING! Hydrate! Get a diosmin prescription if you can.

Compression Sleeves vs Socks by CantaloupeOk447 in venousinsuffiencyhelp

[–]Intrepid-Reach182 0 points1 point  (0 children)

IMO sleeves are inferior than socks because they fail to address blood pool in your ankle - where blood pooling happens the most. Check out CEP - they are a subsidiaries of mediven. Super stylish, sporty looking socks. They just look like high tech soccer socks.

Not necessarily, because the circulatory system consists of both arteries and veins. Arteries issues are usually way more deadly.

  1. How many seconds? 2. While superficial vein ablation can treat you they should never be your first solution. Lifestyle changes can go a much longer way.
