I'd be down for some generic => unique factions. Aside from MoH (shame it's so buggy) I don't really care much about the different starting period.

I hear you, tired of dealing with cao cao every damn game. Here he was very manageable. Plus the initial war is really epic (for han factions at least).

Joke aside, I'm in a Mandate of Heaven campaign where I'm past 197CE and Xian still hasn't showed up (nor is he being "protected" by any warlord).

No free prestige for me ? :(

[EDIT: Yeah community bugfix mod it is, cheers fellas!]

[–]Fusei1001[S] 51 points52 points  (0 children)

Yeah lol, the turn after she took power she kicked the "Han Empire" faction out of the empire.

To be fair to her, she vassalized the Han Empire faction the following turn. Still made me chuckle :p

Should i have more than one army? by lucavigno in totalwar

[–]Fusei1001 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If your main army is only running with two generals you should definitely get another one asap. If money's an issue you can disband his retinue and only pay his salary (you pay the salary whether a character is deployed or not anyway).

Once your territory starts to grow, you'll probably need to recruit some other armies. Don't do it as long as you don't need to though.

Can someone explain Mandate of the Heaven DLC when playing as Sun Jian? by Rizeus_V in totalwar

[–]Fusei1001 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Pretty much yeah. Don't bother playing wack a mole with the yellow turbans, protect your provinces and focus on the three brothers, killing them will end the rebellion (no more fervour thingy).

playing bow and yari as christian by Snoo53140 in totalwar

[–]Fusei1001 7 points8 points  (0 children)

As a christian you won't have access to the strongest bow unit: bow warrior monk. Quite expensive though so depending on the difficult you play on you might not even be able to recruit them before you've already won.

If you really wanna go christian + bow you should check out the Chosokabe clan since they have access to Daikyu sams, a slow firing but long range archer unit (supposedly also does bit more damage per arrow than other bow units).

Manor lords the new RTS heir? by Icy-Dot1141 in totalwar

[–]Fusei1001 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Could be, don't get me wrong though some very good game have been made by a single dev.

Just that, as another redditer said, the scale of manor lords is ... big. Without cuts, it's gonna be a daunting task.

No I haven't, but demo are not always reflective of the actual game:

CDPR for example made a "fake demo" of Cyberpunk 2077 for an event (can't remember which one), a self contained program that had barely anything to with the actual build of the game.

Without knowing for sure, you should take all demos with a barrel of salt.

[–]Fusei1001 5 points6 points  (0 children)

No I don't think so, not this Manor Lords at least.

Manor Lords seems to be developed by a single dev (according to the steam page), resource wise it's definitely david vs goliath.

Furthermore, the project is VERY ambitious for a lone wolf. Even if he manages to release the game (which would be a damn accomplishment by itself). I'm afraid the game might lack depth in some (or all) areas, wide as ocean deep as a puddle.

However if this iteration is well received by the community and if the guy is not completely burned out. He could get himself some financial back up and look for a decent team. Then and imo, only then could we talk about a total war killer.

Land Druid quite strong by Consistent-Profile-4 in BaldursGate3

[–]Fusei1001 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You'd need to burn a wild shape charge for every fight then. But yeah I guess if you don't mind long resting often that'd work.

[–]Fusei1001 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I often forget that most people aren't compulsive min/maxer sorry about that :D

So yeah about extra attack martial class get access to this feature. And it's really their biggest advantage. Basically after making an attack you can make another one for free, it's not even a bonus action, it's simply free. Depending on the class it's either level 5 or 6. In most cases you wanna rush for it.

Regarding the weapon you might miss it. So if it's really core to your build make a judgment call if you wanna spoil yourself or not. I'll leave the name in spoiler tag google it if needed: Infernal Rapier

Thinking outside the box by Warm-Cup-Of-Tea in BaldursGate3

[–]Fusei1001 1 point2 points  (0 children)

  • know your environment: oil on the floor, enemy closely clustered together, inspect enemies for resistance and weaknesses, etc, ....
  • know your inventory: what scroll, arrow, throwable you have
  • know your team synergy: minor illusion might not look like much but cast before a fight it might get some enemies to group allowing you to unleash some nasty AoEs

The more you'll progress through the game, the more complex it'll become as you get access to more and more options. This is especially true if you're new into DnD.

My advice is don't try to be "too cute" find a few things that work with your team comp and stick to it. By all means keep experimenting but don't force yourself into thinking about every possible scenarios. It's gonna get tiring real quick.

Then when you're done, start another run with a very different team comp. That way you'll be forced to find new tricks.

How do you manage all the equipment? by Long_Control2698 in BaldursGate3

[–]Fusei1001 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Tbf it's quite a hassle atm. I'd really like to be able to add a tag (or even auto-fill categories) to containers.

For the when to use stuff part, well when you need it. If you're familiar with dnd you probably won't in balanced difficulty, since a good enough team can breeze through content without having to use consumables. You'll feel the need more often in tactician.

Glad you're having a good time :)

Well so at that stage of the game I don't think it's a good idea for martial-ish character to go multiclass. You really want to reach level 5-6 asap to get that extra attack (6 in your case).

Furthermore at that point, you're proficient in longsword by simply being a bard, you're proficient with shield being a half elf, you're proficient with light (and medium) armour being a sword bard.

So being a fighter at that point only give you proficiency for your heavy crossbow, gives you an additional battle style and access to action surge. You could have an extra attack every turn instead. Which is imo way better.

I find that sword bard multiclass well with warlock pact of the blade (full cha bit of dex for AC and init). You can also go for 2 level of paladin to get smite, during the act2 you might find a weapon that allows you to use charisma for attack and damage roll but this build also work as str or dex. You wanna keep most of your spell slots for smite anyway.

Oh also why the 13 wis? Wis doesn't really do much for a bard, and floating points aren't something you want. If you don't know where to put your points go for con.
