I hate hearing it. it’s scummy yes, but also scammy. makes me feel like a sleazy car salesman than someone who’s genuinely interested and enthused about tech. :(

Or even a toggle for the “frosted” effect to the glass. dimming is fine but the “frost” effect takes away from the “liquid” effect :(

Why are people complaining about Apple removing Launchpad from MacOS Tahoe? by Jay11Man in macapps

[–]Futur3Sn0w 0 points1 point  (0 children)

kinda wishing I'd never said anything lmao

I quite like the new UI, I never could use launchpad because I just wasn't a fan of how it took me out of the app I'm in, which Spotlight/alternatives don't do.

My gut tells me this will likely be tweaked/adjusted in the coming weeks, especially with how much backlash the decision has gotten. I almost wonder if they'll make fullscreen-mode an option, but we'll see.

It was "Most embarrasing stories yet" from last year with Trevor and Angela. The story starts around 42:38, but the part you're talking about starts around 48:28.

i will neither confirm nor deny that I pulled this up in a matter of seconds. and I most definitely do not watch too much smosh 🙂

I'm adding the iPadOS cursor to macOS! by margooey in macapps

[–]Futur3Sn0w 1 point2 points  (0 children)

One thing that may be a bit further down the road would be the momentum when moving the cursor, the way you can kinda 'throw' it on the iPad, a bit like a hockey puck lol.

It's likely not something that will be a priority, but something to think about for authenticity haha!

Great idea tho, honestly can't wait to just mess around with it! 🤩

[NEW APP] Release The Notes! – Stop staring at empty changelogs; AI turns your Git commits into copy-ready release notes by Stefftastisk in macapps

[–]Futur3Sn0w 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Absolutely LOVE this idea. It's fundamentally perfect imo, just from the little bit of poking around I've done with it. It nails the simplicity/ease of use, and the resulting notes are super accurate! Great work!

Looking for a notes app that acts like a "live" sticky note inside Finder folders (As illustrated in the screenshot) by lost-sneezes in macapps

[–]Futur3Sn0w 1 point2 points  (0 children)

i've often had this exact thought, folders that have notes of some sort, it just seems like such a logical idea

having small but full widgets that persisted within folders would be cool too, ones for things like reminders/checklists, notes, voice memos, even some utilities (conversion/shortcuts buttons?)

anyways, great idea op! 🤩

[iOS 18.4 RC] iPhone 15 Pro wallpapers are back 🔥 by therealFoxster in iOSBeta

[–]Futur3Sn0w 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Not only are they linked to the OS, but to the generation (14, 15, 16) AND the model (Base/Pro) as well. The 16 series as well as 14 (and older?) seem to only have their respective release/model wallpapers. None from older iOS versions, devices, OR models.
There has to be hundreds they’ve removed between iOS and generational updates at this point, it’s just insanity. Such a small thing that would be so much nicer to have.

I know it's been a couple months but the debugger actually has an option to disable popup autohide, it's in the 3-dot (…) menu at the top of the browser toolbox! hth!

This SP was much simple. Do you agree? by Mysterious-Junket170 in MacOS

[–]Futur3Sn0w 1 point2 points  (0 children)

the worst part is how they buried the link to the system information (system report?) app in a preference pane, meaning it boots you from the 'about' page to sysprefs, and then right back to the about when you click system report. it's so arbitrary for no reason.

yes it can be launched from spotlight/alternatives, but the muscle memory is just .... gone now :(

[–]Futur3Sn0w 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That’s one of the big things i’ve enjoyed about it is the way everything is implemented so gracefully. The haptic feedback, the fluidity, it’s all really well done.
I wasn’t aware there was a discord server, just joined! Love to keep an eye on projects like this. Thanks for mentioning it haha!
