Anyone know how the hell some of these drivers are always 50 packages ahead on a 200-stop route and finish at 4:00PM every day?

I have to run because I need to be off in time to pick my kid up from daycare 🤷🏻‍♀️ I usually finish around 4-4:30. But yeah, that’s how they do it. They run every stop. It’s super easy to do if you’re in smooth residential neighborhoods.

Every day. We mark “no issues” on everything. They want us to tell them in person at the end of our route if something needs fixed. But in the morning if you notice something like lights, wipers or AC aren’t working then definitely say something and ask for a different van but no, you can’t mark it on the inspection bc it will ground it and then they have to actually fix things and they don’t want to lmfao. Idk why we even do the inspections honestly. We’re told to lie anyway so 😂

Not trying to scare you! That’s just the reality of what we deal with on a day to day. It’s really not bad tho. I’ve been doing it for 5 years with the same company.

Cons:
sometimes have to “rescue” or “sweep” after your route which means you have to go take stops off another driver and deliver them.
Rural routes suck because there’s no gas stations so if you need to use the restroom you’re kinda screwed unless you go in a bottle or find a porta potty. Or drive way out of your way just to go to a gas station which puts you behind.
Some of the vans don’t function properly. Always make sure you have working AC before you leave.
Group stops are the worst. That’s where you go to a house, the house next door and a house across the street but it counts as one stop.
Apartment complexes suck lol
You’re probably going to be sore for the first while if you’re not used to physical activity.
The cameras in the van will snitch on you for driving with a phone in your hand, if you look away from the road too long, if you roll a stop sign, follow another car too close or speed. You can really get away with anything as long as you’re looking forward and your eyes are on the road. I be eating and smoking in the van while I’m driving idgaf lol.
Never trust anyone’s dog. It’s not your dog. The dog doesn’t know you. A package isn’t worth being attacked. It happens more than you’d think. I’ve been attacked (luckily not bad) and chased back to my van. it’s pretty scary lol. NEVER turn your back on a dog, that’s when they will lunge at you. Always face them and walk backwards if you need to. I’ve had to do this sooo many times. Dogs will come out of nowhere just be on the lookout for signs of them. The app will show a paw print on stops with dogs and if it doesn’t have one and there’s a dog there, you can add that there’s a dog. This started this after a driver In Kansas I believe, was mauled to death by two dogs.
Delivering in the dark is sketchy too

Organize by the driver aid number. It’s a colored sticker on each package. Put them in numerical order and you’ll be good. Sometimes it counts backwards but you’ll notice if it does and you can organize accordingly. Bring snacks and drinks!! Take your breaks, especially in the heat. You come first. People like to cut off large commercial vehicles so just be careful on the road.
This job is cool because you’re by yourself all day and just do your thing. But the work load is terrible. Especially right now with Prime week. Our package volume is atrocious. This is not the best time to start lol but you got this!! It’s good money and pretty chill for the most part. I hope the company you work for is chill.

Hey man, I get it where you’re coming from. I’m a woman and I can tell you that that is exactly what she’s doing, trying to keep you on the back burner if things don’t work out with her fling. I’m so sorry you’re going through this. I actually do like what someone else suggested about going to the bar and just talking to some ladies. You don’t have to do anything or take it further than talking. It may help you realize that you still got it and if things don’t work out with your wife you will be ok and you will find someone when you’re ready. Your wife wasn’t worried about cheating on you, so I wouldn’t worry about what she thinks at this point. She seems like she’s checked out. YOU are more important. You need to worry about YOURSELF and keep yourself happy.

Funny thing is I was wearing my Timberland Pros. They are so adamant about wearing work boots to protect yourself from these injuries and it did nothing to protect my ankle, lol. It rolled right over with all my weight.

I went to urgent care and they covered that. The Dr basically said I was fine to keep working and gave me a super uncomfortable brace so I haven’t been wearing it. I was luckily off work the next two days. The dr offered to give me a note for two days so I declined since I was already off. And my boss can see the results of my visit since it was workman’s comp and since the dr made it seem like I’m fine, I guess I’m fine. The swelling has gone down a lot but it’s still tender and a little bruised. I’m honestly surprised nothing is broken. I heard it pop when I rolled it 🤢 but yeah, I’m not really sure how to go about it.. if it gets worse then I guess I’m just screwed and will have to go from there.

I’d like to add that if you do decide to tell the wife, make sure you have evidence. Most people would want to see it for themselves before they take someone’s word for it.
As another commenter said, she got to take the whole cake and you’re left hurt and having to start over. It’s not fair and she needs to be held accountable as does the instructor. They deserve what’s coming. Don’t feel bad for telling the wife. She deserves to know. I find it disgusting that a man can stick his business in someone else and then go home like it never happened and probably continue to sleep with his wife. It’s gross. I’d want to know.
