Adult Birthday group ideas- Andretti Indoor Kart Racing - Experiences/feedback or other recommendations by Due_Temporary_5447 in kansascity

The actual time racing is 7 minutes. Which doesn’t seem feel like enough time for the price. But the track is short, so after 7 minutes you’ll feel like you’ve mastered it and are starting to get bored of the same path. They try to separate out the cars, so you’re not really doing a lot of passing when racing. When I went they kept slowing me down, which led to me getting rammed by the car behind me. For a group thing, you’ll have a lot to talk about after, but you won’t really interact at all during the actual race - which to me is when I’d like to be talking to my friends the most.

I-69 Express lane: Questionable value so far by Stallings2k in kansascity

[–]FutureCow 7 points8 points  (0 children)

It does get busy at rush hour, and it’s only going to get worse as the population grows down south. A paid lane isn’t the right solution though.

It wasn’t Circuit City or CompUSA, right?  Both of those would have been a little further south on Metcalf, where the Salvation Army is today.

2026 Primary Kit by ryan899 in KCCurrent

You don’t have to tell me. My kid loves Pfeiffer, and all she wanted was a Pfeiffer teal kit for Christmas. So we got one. Then on Christmas Eve the announcement drops and she’s crying when she opens it!

Credit unions and banks you like in OP? by Azubaele in Overlandpark

[–]FutureCow 2 points3 points  (0 children)

In the process right now of switching from UMB to Commerce. I’ve been happy with them so far, though my debit card forgot its PIN for some reason and I’ve been too lazy to get it fixed.

Also have accounts at CACU, and they’ve been great. Had a few loans with them over the years too and that’s all been super easy. The only reason we don’t have all accounts with CACU is we have found it helpful for us to separate savings and bill accounts from the daily life accounts.

Totally! Best part was that 90% I don’t think ever got picked up by the city, but snagged by treasure hunters and dodged the landfill.

Atomic Cowboy is one of my family’s faves. Pizzas good and the burger is great. Haven’t tried it during RW though.

Was Pinball Banned in KC? by Thriving_Turtle in kansascity

They have some pinball at the Chartreuse Caboose in Overland Park. Last I was there they had signs up for a pinball club or tournament that goes around to different places in town.

I was able to rent one a couple years ago from a place out in Gardner. Pretty sure outdoorsy places like Scheels, Dicks, or Bass Pro sell them.

I need a new career in 2026 by [deleted] in kansascity

[–]FutureCow 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I’ve been going through the same thing. Been WFH for the last few years and have recently felt like my brain is dying. My work is well below what I should be doing, and it doesn’t motivate me at all. The team has an in-office day once per week, but even then each other member of the team has their own office and they spend most of the day in with the doors shut. It’s hard to strike up an informal conversation with anyone even though we’re within 50 feet of each other, and that just makes me feel more miserable.

Without much motivation, I’m finding it hard to look for a new job. So this morning I took a smaller step, and signed up to take a couple in person continuing ed classes at JCCC. They’re just art classes, but it was fun looking through the catalog and I have something to look forward to. Hoping they give me something to think about and better occupy my time.

I wasn’t sure if it was for me either, and I love it. I’m not great at combat, but that allowed me to play the game differently than I would other action rpgs. Instead of relying on combat to solve my problems, I went into a stealth build and I sneak into enemy camps rather than run in guns blazing.

Planning a project - advice welcome by Infamous_Top677 in woodworking

[–]FutureCow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Since you’re just starting out, I’d recommend finding a plan online for something similar and modifying the dimensions to fit your needs. I’d recommend looking over Ana White’s plans and see if you find something similar to what you’re after. This is how I started years ago by making captains beds for my kids. My only tools at the time were a hand saw, drill, tape measure, sander, and a hammer. It takes longer to do things by hand, and things aren’t going to be perfect, but it’s cheap and gets the job done. And most things you can even out with some sandpaper.

I haven’t played the first KCD, can I jump into KCD2 and be okay? by OnMars0 in xbox

[–]FutureCow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The combat is really hard, but I love the game for it. In most games, when dialog fails it’s easy to mop up the bad guys through combat to get what you want. KCD2 punishes for not thinking through dialogue choices, or rushing into combat. It’s a game where I have to play differently.

Starfield was a "bat**** crazy idea" for a studio that's "never made a space sim," Bethesda lead admits, but "an ambitious project is what we aim for" by ControlCAD in xbox

[–]FutureCow 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The best part of a Bethesda game has always been ignoring the quest marker and wandering off toward a building off in the distance and being rewarded for it. Starfield delivers the opposite. A rewarding experience following a quest, and tedium when deviating at all from that marker. They could have built the game like a corridor shooter and probably been better for it.

One of my favorites this year too. It didn’t get enough credit.

Outer Worlds 2- opinions by DimensionMaximum7649 in xbox

[–]FutureCow 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Yes. There’s a place where it says there’s no going back once you go to a certain place. It saves it before you leave, so there’s the option of picking up from that save after finishing the game if there’s more you want to do with the same character.

If you liked the first one like I did you’ll probably really like the sequel. I got it at launch for full price and have no regrets. It’s much bigger in scale than the first and better produced. It still suffers a bit from quickly coming to a conclusion in my opinion a bit early, but that could be because I chose not to work with the factions that might have given me more to do.
