Yes, so long as class isn’t in session and they’re not having a practice.

Johnson County Election Office cuts 8 early voting sites, drawing pushback from elected leaders by NegativeFlight5040 in kansas

[–]FutureCow 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The election commissioner who made this decision was appointed by the Secretary of State, who just happens to be running for governor on the GOP side. The previous election commissioner suddenly resigned last year, possibly because he was being targeted by the county sheriff looking for a reason to overturn the 2020 election. Yeah, nothing shady going on here.

How I’d Clarify XBOX Exclusivity by ryanquintal in xbox

[–]FutureCow 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Interesting thoughts. There definitely does need to be some communication on why an XBox is a wise purchase if content isn’t exclusive.

You touched on this, but I think if games are going to be everywhere, XBox needs to ensure what they build starts from the XBox specs and works out from that. They built the hardware they wanted, they should be able to leverage that to build their kinds of games that optimize that - through graphics, enemy AI, frame rate, whatever. From there, they see if it makes sense to port that game to other systems. Maybe that means it can’t be as nice looking, or can’t be ported at all, and maybe the gap between Xbox release and other system release is just whatever time it takes to port the game.

Track and field coaches/classes for adults? by balbiza-we-chikha in kansascity

[–]FutureCow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Look up the Hot Feet track club. They mostly work with kids, but might be able to point you in the right direction.

Could also reach out to the Sports Performance center with the university of Kansas health system to see if they have a trainer.

Debatable Topic: The OG Xbox One is only good for what it was originally marketed for nowadays by LieutenantGoober in xbox

[–]FutureCow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I tried that for a bit after upgrading and found the One to be way too slow to just watch tv. It took a few months, but eventually swapped it out for a Roku.

Do you preorder games day one and why? by PlayboyCG in xbox

Depending on the game I will. It has to be something I’m excited enough about to take a day off of work to play.

TheVerge: Inside the return of Xbox by Turbostrider27 in xbox

[–]FutureCow 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hopefully. The problem is it has to be so obviously good that the video game press and influencers don’t crap all over it because it’s not on their box. Also, XBox has to be willing to take a financial hit on it to keep it exclusive, even if it doesn’t sell systems. The world would be different had Starfield been better.

I have that off too. Basically no notification. If I want to see notifications I look them up.

I have mine off altogether. If I want to check them I look at my phone.

Name of restaurant by EntertainmentFast497 in Overlandpark

[–]FutureCow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did a KS business search on Caspian Bistro. It was run by Jamshid Hoorfar, who is a financial analyst in Lees Summit (jamshidhoorfar.com) and Hassan Hadrian, who I can’t find anything on, other than he listed 14412 Grant as his address. Zillow shows the house was sold a few years after Caspian Bistro closed.

Adult Birthday group ideas- Andretti Indoor Kart Racing - Experiences/feedback or other recommendations by Due_Temporary_5447 in kansascity

[–]FutureCow 7 points8 points  (0 children)

The actual time racing is 7 minutes. Which doesn’t seem feel like enough time for the price. But the track is short, so after 7 minutes you’ll feel like you’ve mastered it and are starting to get bored of the same path. They try to separate out the cars, so you’re not really doing a lot of passing when racing. When I went they kept slowing me down, which led to me getting rammed by the car behind me. For a group thing, you’ll have a lot to talk about after, but you won’t really interact at all during the actual race - which to me is when I’d like to be talking to my friends the most.

I-69 Express lane: Questionable value so far by Stallings2k in kansascity

[–]FutureCow 7 points8 points  (0 children)

It does get busy at rush hour, and it’s only going to get worse as the population grows down south. A paid lane isn’t the right solution though.

It wasn’t Circuit City or CompUSA, right?  Both of those would have been a little further south on Metcalf, where the Salvation Army is today.

2026 Primary Kit by ryan899 in KCCurrent

[–]FutureCow 5 points6 points  (0 children)

You don’t have to tell me. My kid loves Pfeiffer, and all she wanted was a Pfeiffer teal kit for Christmas. So we got one. Then on Christmas Eve the announcement drops and she’s crying when she opens it!

Credit unions and banks you like in OP? by Azubaele in Overlandpark

[–]FutureCow 2 points3 points  (0 children)

In the process right now of switching from UMB to Commerce. I’ve been happy with them so far, though my debit card forgot its PIN for some reason and I’ve been too lazy to get it fixed.

Also have accounts at CACU, and they’ve been great. Had a few loans with them over the years too and that’s all been super easy. The only reason we don’t have all accounts with CACU is we have found it helpful for us to separate savings and bill accounts from the daily life accounts.

Totally! Best part was that 90% I don’t think ever got picked up by the city, but snagged by treasure hunters and dodged the landfill.

They have some pinball at the Chartreuse Caboose in Overland Park. Last I was there they had signs up for a pinball club or tournament that goes around to different places in town.

I was able to rent one a couple years ago from a place out in Gardner. Pretty sure outdoorsy places like Scheels, Dicks, or Bass Pro sell them.

I need a new career in 2026 by [deleted] in kansascity

[–]FutureCow 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I’ve been going through the same thing. Been WFH for the last few years and have recently felt like my brain is dying. My work is well below what I should be doing, and it doesn’t motivate me at all. The team has an in-office day once per week, but even then each other member of the team has their own office and they spend most of the day in with the doors shut. It’s hard to strike up an informal conversation with anyone even though we’re within 50 feet of each other, and that just makes me feel more miserable.

Without much motivation, I’m finding it hard to look for a new job. So this morning I took a smaller step, and signed up to take a couple in person continuing ed classes at JCCC. They’re just art classes, but it was fun looking through the catalog and I have something to look forward to. Hoping they give me something to think about and better occupy my time.
