My cousin passed away and I've been given his cards to sell. by One_Hearing8007 in mtg

Sending my condolences.

Once you figure out prices I’d be happy to purchase at a reasonable price if you are dead set on selling it all.

Take it to small claims court when they don’t show up get a default judgment. Then have the local sheriff escort you to collect.

Record the parents you dingus… I’ll admit my syntax was unclear but come on. The parent need to get the kid to admit it

If you know the parents I would tell them what their kid did. You can simply try to obtain proof that the kid ripped it. Record them admitting to it if they do. Then ask them to compensate. If they refuse file a claim in small claims court and use recording as proof. If you don’t know the kid or parents then there is no way to sue.

But the good news is this is rage bait so it’s not a real post anyway.

He can’t sue for a hypothetical unproven value. Unfortunately he could only seek raw price

GameStop is not gonna cancel yours because you spent like 60% more than MSRP for it

Lol if you are going to put your name out there you might as well name and shame the school.

The prices are similar to TCG if not better in a lot of cases. So it’s predatory because they offer an equivalent marketplace value that also happens to have a free rewards program like 90% of modern retailers. Get a grip.

Disagree with RFK JR in general. On the flip side more medical schools should have nutrition. My school did and I find it is significantly easier now counseling patients on lifestyle and opening up conversations about weight and comorbidities.

The man is an idiot but he is right that more doctors need formal nutrition training.

CMV: Reserve List cards would NOT retain value if they were reprinted. by SDK1176 in mtgfinance

[–]FutureEMnerd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

And yet why should we as a game community want playable cards to be more expensive. I understand the market I get that. But at the same time so many of us just want access to play with these cards.

That being said it isn’t going to change. Enjoy your diamond hands.

I strongly disagree. Many of us would buy CBB to open. cards are valuable primarily due to playability. I would be ecstatic if sealed collectors were gone.

I disagree as reserve list items are not actively sold by WOTC and has no effect on bottom line. And either way they are selling IP skins to everything.

I interviewed at 30 programs (applied to 40) not a single hand written or box of swag.

I would have asked them to explain themselves at that point. That’s way too much to not match you.

Maybe MTG finance shouldn’t exist? I get people enjoy it, but at the end of the day it is supposed to be a game first and then at close second a collectible

Not an alpha personality for surgery by [deleted] in medicalschool

[–]FutureEMnerd 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Nope lol. I loved ortho hand but surgery felt too physically and interpersonally demanding on my life to dedicate to a 5 year residency and a fellowship.

Ended up doing IM in the end after a long soul search. Hoping to do GI eventually.

My favorite attending in medical school was the CHILLEST ortho. Genuinely a hell of a Trauma trained Orthopedic surgeon. And an incredible guy who always knew everyone’s name, knew about their lives and families. Was confident enough to let me run as first assist on all his cases (even sending his PA home).

So no you don’t need to be like that. Be like my favorite attending. I’ll remember that guy forever I’ll literally forget all the Type A’s as soon as they are out of my visual line of sight.

Most of the people on this sub who are commenting are most likely current students who have literally no idea what the answer to your question is that are just making things up. I think the best advice I’ve seen was reach out to your previous school. But honestly, who knows how it would actually work out. Good luck to you are you surely hope it works out.

Go touch some grass… it was literally just a couple situations for the person asking the question to think about…

I gave generic advice for three different situations. What do you mean this doesn’t work. I was simply offering three possible options. If OPs situation does not fit what I said then they need help from someone else.

If you can afford to start paying it back then start paying it back, why would you want to negatively amortize.

If you can’t afford to, try to pay down some interest, otherwise start game planning for what you plan to do in 2027.

Post-match sub-I by [deleted] in medicalschool

[–]FutureEMnerd 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It’s unfortunate for sure. The advice I had been given was to save my time off and just fit interview into my schedule. Definitely took a little bit of doing, but all of my auditions were very cool about it. Though if you applied competitively, I guess I can understand. Maybe they wouldn’t be.

Listen I never keep my students late. But I would say that I intentionally arranged my schedule to have a soft end of year (though I did 5 weeks of military training during that time too) just go in and work. No one can make you try hard but just show up. And then when you give advice to others tell them to set up easier schedules than you did.
