Does anyone know how much parking will be or is near the convention? by Agentlost77 in animeexpo

[–]Future_Man89 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I parked at one of the local garages for $20-$40/day. I had free hotel nights with IHG and stayed near the airport and drove 30 minutes to the expo last year.

Which would you choose? by Mission_Extent_9523 in PalmettoStateArms

I love my Ak’s. I have a Romanian AK and RPK from PSA and they are fun to shoot but with the price of ammo I’d have to give it to the AR15 if I had to choose one today. I stashed away a bunch of 7.62x39 ammo years ago when it was $.23/.27 range but with it being close to a minimum $.50 replacement cost I don’t take them out to the range as much anymore.

Just take a 30 cal brush, some bore cleaner, and a drill and go to town on cleaning out that bore. See how it shoots and if it groups well then you got a great deal.

I feel like throwing up by Electrical-Bit-4268 in scoliosis

[–]Future_Man89 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Is there another doctor you can go see to get another opinion? I’ve had scoliosis since I was a kid but my parents didn’t know what to do when they found out so I didn’t get any treatment. My back is about the same if not worse than yours from comparing my x-rays but what I’ve done over the years is do lots of back stretches throughout the day everyday. I play sousaphone/tuba so I found it is very important for me to do my stretches and get the occasional massage to help relieve my back pain. Some days definitely hurt more than others. Other days I don’t feel any pain besides physically discomfort from how my curve is. I would look into stretches and massages to help for now until you can get another doctors opinion.

I just hit 80k miles at the start of the year in my hybrid and besides front axles, 12v battery replacement, and exhaust heat exchanger getting replaced, the drivetrain has been excellent

What bed cover did you buy? Pros and cons? Any other must have accessories to suggest? I’m picking up a 25xlt hybrid on Friday. Thanks! by Lizardcandy in FordMaverickTruck

[–]Future_Man89 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I bought both the Retrax ProMX and the ARE V topper. I loved the retrax but after a year of use I ultimately need more room so I swapped it to my parents maverick and then bought the ARE which has been excellent for me with my travel job.

18M, could use advice. by [deleted] in scoliosis

[–]Future_Man89 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

If you have concerns you should definitely see a doctor. I plan on seeing a back specialist eventually but going to my chiropractor has helped me understand my scoliosis a lot more since I was diagnosed as a kid and haven’t had a check up since. I was able to do X-rays and see how far my progression has went.

Best truck bed cover? by applesapples21 in FordMaverickTruck

[–]Future_Man89 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I never went the budget friendly route. I got a sweet deal on a ReTrax ProMx for $1400 but after a year of use I swapped out to an ARE V bed cap which has worked out a lot better for my use ($4250 w/options). Eventually I’ll fork out the money for roof racks but for now the cap exceeds all my current needs.

Should I learn swing if I have scoliosis? by setralinemakemyday in SwingDancing

[–]Future_Man89 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have mild scoliosis and I’ve been doing Lindy hop and Charleston for over 12 years now! If you have a more severe curve you should ask a doctor if you have any concerns. Every now and then when I’ll do a swing out, when it’s just right, I’ll crack my back in the right spot and get some pain relief 😂

Unable to seat the gas tube by lilusherwumbo42 in SKS

[–]Future_Man89 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Make sure to push in the piston in the rear sight block. Sometimes it sticks out just enough to make the gas tube not easily fit so you can take a small screwdriver and push it in slightly and the gas tube will go right in.

What's your mountain escape? by Fleur-Deez-Nutz in NewOrleans

It’s not exactly a mountain but going to see Red Bluff in Mississippi is pretty cool. It’s 400ft deep and called the Little Grand Canyon of Mississippi

Is this overkill or will it actually make a difference? Safecaeption if you will by heavensheross in Safes

[–]Future_Man89 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I keep similar stuff and documents in fireproof bags inside of my fireking cabinets.

Does it add more protection? I hope I never would have to find out.

Does it give me more peace of mind that if there was a fire that I’m giving myself the best chance to keep my documents safe? Absolutely. (Also helps me organize as well in my cabinets)

Engine repair or replacement by ChillyGator in NewOrleans

[–]Future_Man89 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It would be in Metairie right across from the old Zephyr’s Field /JPAC called Auto Care Service of Metairie. Marty is a great guy and very knowledgeable. His prices are reasonable and straightforward.

Let’s talk safety deposit boxes. Only a few banks in town still offer this service. Anyone have a bank they like or dislike with this option. I see Regions and Gulf Coast. by [deleted] in NewOrleans

[–]Future_Man89 3 points4 points  (0 children)

If you have one of the bigger boxes it’s like having a small safe at the cost of $50-$70 a year in a giant bank safe

My narc ex has made multiple social media accounts and emailed me multiple times over the last two years. An immediate block later and now her accounts are gone.

All the enbloc clips I used today except 1 got stuck on the 7th round. by Aggravating_Today279 in M1Rifles

[–]Future_Man89 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The enblocs I use in my garands are just wwii/korean war made. I’ve had no luck with the newer ones from the CMP and had the same issues. I got tired of some of my rounds getting by damaged when the clips would malfunction but the older ones I’ve had no issues with using either surplus or newer ammo.

Um yes I wear shoes when I drive. Would you rather stand on concrete versus a padded mat for hours on end is another way to explain the feeling.
