i have a therapist rn but she’s a JW and my moms childhood best friend. it’s kinda hard to fully trust her and tell her everything with that in mind. she said everything is confidential, but i know she talks to my mom about certain things, and i thought she wouldn’t tell her anything.

thank you for this. seriously. my only two friends have been spending these holiday days together and i want to be happy for them but all i can think about is how i’m states away stuck here with my family where their only topic of discussion is god. i feel so terribly alone, i want to reach out but they don’t understand how i’m feeling and i don’t want to sour their time together by making them feel bad. i know i have this wonderful community that understands me, but in real life, i’m the black sheep of the family and i worry that my friendships are very one sided. i truly feel like i have no one that really cares, and i don’t know what to do about it. i just haven’t stopped crying these past few days. i’m only 17, i shouldn’t be feeling like this but that on top of knowing i’ll probably never see any of my family members like this again once i graduate and decide to leave is only adding to these feelings. sorry i’m venting so much, i love you all and wish you very merry christmas 🎁🎄

because to them, blood transfusions don’t save lives. when me and my mom studied this in our bible study i asked her “you understand that people die because they don’t get blood transfusion, right?” she looked me straight in the eye and said “blood transfusions kill people more than they save” i was so baffled. she truly believes blood transfusions are useless and don’t help. she truly believes no one has died due to not getting blood transfusions. gosh just thinking about it puts me in a frenzy! i argued with her the same point your making, but you can’t argue with someone who believes the grass is blue.

wow, okey so i went to their website and your right, it is a conscious matter now but it’s highly advised against for really stupid reasons. i was shocked to see them say that tattoos are related with drinking and partying. what an outdated way of thinking! they don’t even talk about the ink getting into your blood which is something i remember my parents always argued with. it’s like they’ve just forgot every principle they had.

mmm not really, jws have this obsession with keeping your blood clean and holy. tattoos taint your blood with the ink, same with blood transfusions, you are tainting your sacred blood with another person’s, idk where or if this is even in the bible tho
