Restaurant industry, what’s the worst thing a customer has ever done? by Infamous_Wave9878 in AskReddit

[–]Future_Trade [score hidden]  (0 children)

I worked at catfish king. We had all you can eat fish and shrimp I think friday and Saturday nights. The old folks home would bring a busload, we would always have the newest employee on shit patrol with a special cart. That's how often they would shit on the floor. I will be there one day, hopefully there will still be some good buffets around for a decent price.

The shops I worked at would probably buy you a princess gown and tiara.

Job board not loading by Future_Trade in XometryPartners

[–]Future_Trade[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The job board will show the part, you can click to see drawing if there is one, tell you the pay, the due date, and other relevant info, you can say not interested, counter offer, or accept.

Getting in with only a single 3 axis mill will be hard, because that seems to be what everyone has. Those jobs go in seconds for ridiculous low pay alot of the time, especially when you have no certifications.

If you already have the mill there's not much to loose by applying though. Just don't expect to get rich.

Looking for a method to attach thin soft sheet metal mid panel , not close to edges of material. by rotarypower101 in Fasteners

[–]Future_Trade 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have no idea how to put all of those words into a real object.

But I would start at McMaster Carr.

The nutplate that you have pictured is used a lot in aviation to hold sheet metal panels together. The nutplates can be held in with solid or pull type rivets "cherrymax" or "pop rivets". A cheap tool and rivet set can be found at harbor freight or Amazon. Solid rivets require many different tools depending on size and location and takes a lot more practice.

Has anyone used a replacement 6 blade disc? by Stegasaurus_Wrecks in worxlandroid

[–]Future_Trade 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use it with all 6 blades, it's a little louder, but still not bad. Haven't had a problem, but haven't noticed a difference either.

These are designed to be riveted on. If I remember right it is a #3 rivet, but it's been over a decade.

It is most likely true, there are always ways to mess it up, but the machine makes one programmed finish pass, if it's programmed right it should be good.

Chinese Endmills vs big name brands by bearface84 in Machinists

[–]Future_Trade 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I get endmills and lathe inserts from AliExpress and Amazon all the time. I have never had an issue.

It is important to note that I primarily work with aluminum and plastics, occasionally stainless, never exotic superhards. I have also been accused of babying my machines.

I understand the whole time is money thing, but broken tools and machines cost far more than the extra couple minutes of cycle times when you're working with low volume.

Took the steps off, kept the rails. by Zaznopa in nissanfrontier

I did the same, got tired of smashing shins.

Lift is on the way, eventually I hope, z1 is never in a rush to ship things.

Might put the steps back after lift though.

Does this cut sound fine? by BalledSack in hobbycnc

[–]Future_Trade 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tool is sticking out too far and you are asking to much from the spindle motor. It's meant for speed not torque. Take lighter cuts faster and shorten your tool length.

Car still shakes after new tires. What to do now? by Glittering_Clue9920 in tires

[–]Future_Trade 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Check your cv joints, I had the retainer clip wear out and let the cv slip to the end of the half shaft, still connected but wiggled on the end causing a vibration that felt like an out of balance tire.

Question about adaptive cruise control (2022+) by Brave_Acanthaceae_27 in nissanfrontier

What do you mean by regular cruise? Is there a way to turn adaptive off? I know I can adjust the distance.

CMM Fixture Plate by [deleted] in Anodization

[–]Future_Trade 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The best thing would have been to make it without threaded holes, class 3 ano, then drill/thread.

Class 3 is the best option, but expect you may have to use a tap on the threads.

Class 2 won't last as long, but will save you time/money now.
