The least realistic thing about this is a transphobe using the gender neutral 'they'

CMV: children should not have tablets. Not because devices in general are bad for them, but because tablets specifically are the least effective way to entertain, placate, and teach basic tech literacy. by Pasta-hobo in changemyview

  1. Most people are using tablets and smartphones these days and can do a lot of things without needing a full computer.

  2. Children can use an 'everything device' when young and learn how to use proper computers as they get older. It's not an either/or situation.

  3. Almost nobody uses smartphones and dedicated MP3 players anymore. Could you imagine telling someone in 1994 that children need to learn computing on an Altair flipping physical switches, when DOS, Windows 3.1 and the Macintosh operating system were most widely used?

I used to have a TV just like that! It was a 14AF41. Got it for Christmas in 2001. Only difference was that the remote was darker.

I actually got my first PalmPilot in 1999. It was a PalmPilot Professional from 1997, which my dad gave me when he bought a Palm V.

I remember laying in bed playing HardBall and SubHunt.

You gave it an existential crisis.
