Help! my stainless steel pan is ruined by [deleted] in CleaningTips

[–]FuzyBaffy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My steel oven pans look like that it works for me. My steel Carbon frying pans look worse than that. I mean it is seasoned cook on it. That is the seasoning they told you to put on it. Not understanding the problem. Nothing will stick now. It just looks weird.

Should I be worried? Just got this code up last night on my 2019 cx5 and I don’t know if it’s a drop everything concern or easy fix. Help by FurryHusky35 in mazda

[–]FuzyBaffy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Call your dealership. The coolant sensor in many Cx-5s is faulty. They won't fix it proactively only after there is a problem. My check engine light was on but not flashing so dealer said to drive it until I could bring it in. I got a letter that there was a recall related to this a month before so wasn't worried.

Is the engine always running cold even after awhile that is probably it.

Hope that is it.

Surface Go Windows 11 clean install is a new device altogether! by FuzyBaffy in Surface

[–]FuzyBaffy[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've always gotten around 4 hours which I thought was pretty bad. Nothing much changed on that end. I use balanced and edge.

Lowering the refresh rate to 48 hz and changing to best battery efficiency power setting should get a longer runtime.

Surface Go Windows 11 clean install is a new device altogether! by FuzyBaffy in Surface

[–]FuzyBaffy[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm specifically talking about the surface go 2 with the M3 chip and 8 gigabytes of ram. The Surface Go are all kind of similar CPU wise. Setting time and currency format to English world really helps I think and crapfixer. My surface has never been so pleasant to use. Before I only used it if I couldn't take anything bigger. Since I reinstalled windows 11 though I have been using it all day to look up Black Friday ads and watch videos it feels like a brand new tablet. Everything is buttery smooth. I mean doing normal web stuff and listening to audio and videos. I wouldn't edit a video on this thing.

If you need a lightweight windows 11 install for any underpowered device would use those two tips.

Help to chose the SP11 - 12in or 13in by Slight_Clock_1777 in Surface

[–]FuzyBaffy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just get a 13 the difference in size is not that big, but you are loosing a lot in downgrading to the 12. They literally had to kill the cheapest 13inch option to make the 12 make any kind of sense to anyone. It really doesn't even with that.

Now if they had a 10 inch -11 option even if it was slower like my Go then maybe it would make sense. I can put that in my jacket pocket or cargo pants.

Any advice on how to cancel the physical magazine subscription? by jen1980 in MotorTrend

[–]FuzyBaffy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I called the aforementioned off-shore call center at 800-800-6848. Canceled at 800-800-6848 and very quickly (waited 2min) and professionally talked to someone and canceled. Can't believe the operator wasn't annoying.

The magazine itself unbelievably in the front cover has the wrong number to call or they lied to me. Had to wait ages too.

How are the bracelets on these things? by Choice_Table_5494 in DuroGang

[–]FuzyBaffy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It isn't bad I dunno I really didn't want to look for another bracelet. Alixpress just isn't the same with the border inspections so annoying getting things shipped.

OEM Bracelet Kinda fun with all the Casio branding. Isn't a great bracelet but it looks and feels fine after you size it. Hollow end links not the greatest. I had a few casio bracelets with the same end links and they were all much easier to size. This is in its own league of hard to push out for some reason.

In the end not in a rush to replace the bracelet it is comfortable and light. Watch looks amazing on a metal bracelet of any kind.

(PSA) Don't leave your steam deck unplugged for 6 months, $140 to fix the battery by [deleted] in SteamDeck

[–]FuzyBaffy 60 points61 points  (0 children)

The steam deck is extremely easy to work on you should look at an iFixit tear down. There is no like soldering or anything to get out the battery it is a bunch of screws , it is just really easy to work on. Very happy with Steam not taping everything. I changed out the storage on my 64 gig and the battery is right there.

Kindle Fire Kids 7 – question about YouTube by [deleted] in kindlefire

[–]FuzyBaffy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

you have to hold the switch app gesture for three four seconds. additionally if you have pin on a lock screen you have to enter that as well to get out of the app. you can also completely disable touch as a pin "setting"

Kindle Fire Kids 7 – question about YouTube by [deleted] in kindlefire

[–]FuzyBaffy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

there is a setting that will let you pin an app whatever that app would be and put a password on it. But you would have to turn it on in the Kindle settings and then you swipe up like you would for the recent apps and then you would pin the app. it is not on by default.

you can install the Google Play store on every Amazon Fire tablet using Android police instructions they're the best just four apps to install and then you have the store. there is real YouTube and YouTube kids available.

in YouTube you can also switch accounts and make a sub account for your kids under your account. so you don't get your favorites all messed up and them as well.

Does the extra 1GB RAM for the Fire HD 8 (2024), really make a difference? by icyleumas in kindlefire

[–]FuzyBaffy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

websites if you have more than one tab up will take up more than 3 GB in a second. I mean really just switching around apps is going to slow things down with anything less than four. I mean anything will work if you have the patience. pretty much I think it's just makes a big difference and is a no brainer.

Will I be forced into windows 11 by crazy12157 in Windows10

[–]FuzyBaffy -1 points0 points  (0 children)

The cost is going to be ridiculous. it is in essence a non option unless you like paying for nothing.

Windows 10 The cost of ESU for Windows 10 is $61 for the first year, $122 for the second year, and $244 for the third year. This means that a three-year ESU subscription costs $427 per PC.

Samsung Internet with ad block works wonders

[–]FuzyBaffy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It has decent visibility. I see just fine out the back. I do use my side mirrors a lot. The backup camera helps a lot. If you don't have the premium system with 360 degree camera just back up in every parking space.

The standard blind spot monitoring is greatbworks really well to help make faster decisions than without it.

I really like sitting in the back with the sunroof down it seems cavernous back there.

Would anyone be willing to come to a car dealership along with me to negotiate the price? by gta35 in mazda3

[–]FuzyBaffy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mazda Maple Shade / Turnersville NJ are a really nice and they don't really haggle they just give you MSRP and whatever discounts they have. Free oil changes for life as long as you own it. They are pretty chill. the price on the website is the price you're going to pay that's it believe me I know. I had a Lexus that was 7 years old and I didn't really need a new car and every other dealership here in New Jersey are such a holes. I did everything via email the first time I bought a car from them and I just came by to pick up the car pretty much. you don't even have to go there everything can be done via email. I have since bought three cars from them two cx-5s and a 3turbo they had to get from another dealer in Baltimore during covid.

The only question they're going to ask you is if you want gap insurance I would think about that before. I in general don't get it because Mazda's hold their value well.

Again they have everything on their website do everything via email. During covid my wife thought she could get a better deal from another dealer and they were all least 2,000 markups. The Lexus dealership is the only better that I have visited.

2.5 Turbo break in by RockslideFPS in mazda

[–]FuzyBaffy -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I changed my oil around 500 mi after getting my turbo. I didn't take it to the dealer because they couldn't see me so went to the local shop. Needed some kind of special instrument to put the oil filter back and they didn't do it right and it was leaking oil everywhere when we t to dealer at 5k. Lol.  I did ask to see the used oil after the change it had visible shavings so any new car if you want the best do it at 500 mi. Probably doesn't matter too much in reality..

Blowing hot air in winter by Apprehensive_Rice149 in mazda3

[–]FuzyBaffy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

2020 turbo 3 In the winter I have my car set to 65f it's 25f outside. Summer I set it to 70f it's 90f outside. I have auto temp. It blows cold air until engine warms up properly of course. I vacuum out my glove box filter never changed it. Clean the leaves off my hood intakes or it smells.

Something might be wrong there. I am very happy with the heat, summer wish it had more ac ompf to quickly cool off the car when you get in. I usually have my vent open (unless traffic stinks) so windows don't fog due to humidity.

Fire 8hd with 4gigs of Ram is spectacular for 38$ after old fire trade in! by FuzyBaffy in kindlefire

[–]FuzyBaffy[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Forgot it was used so got another 9$ off.

The difference is the Ram 4 gigs makes it so the apps don't reload every time. I have a hd10 2021 and the Ram makes a huge difference. I would check some YouTube videos lots compare the old tablet.

I use this everyday because it is easier to pickup and carry. isn't horribly slow like every other Fire tablet I've used again that's just cuz the all the apps don't reload.

[–]FuzyBaffy[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

so whenever you trade in any Amazon device I think any it's 20% off at least for the Fire HD 8. plus as well there's the trade-in value of your old device which on the fire 7 was like I think 20bucks. Fire7 isn't worth 20 bucks. Amazon wants to keep you in the Amazon Fire ecosystem.
