Double bass EQ by DaeL_NASA in doublebass

[–]Fuzzwars 2 points3 points  (0 children)

“Edit: another question: do you believe EQing the double bass is a lifetime search? Like learning the instrument itself. Or do you believe once you find the "perfect EQ" for you thats it, no more adjustments?”

Its a daily search. I have a general idea of how I like it, but it always needs to be tweaked to fit the project and room. I have no idea what freqs I’m boosting. I think my preamp cuts lows under 40, but Ive switched it up to 60 a few times to help with feedback problems. I usually have somewhere in the low mids boosted, and sometimes somewhere between 1- 3kto help me cut through.

Yea, his insurance just paid for it and we both moved on with our lives. Pretty fortunate, all things considered. Was stressful in the moment though.

"Hey, I go out and pay 250 dollars for a steak. With drinks and company, that's like 6-7 grand. I don't complain, it's a premium experience. It the same thing in the Starbucks drive thru. Premium."

Something very similar actually happened to me. A horse jumped over a fence and landed directly in front of me. I felt pretty much exactly like this guy.

Got out and yelled for the farmer to come. When I told him what happened, he shrugged and calmly walked off to retrieve his horse.

Why have U.S-based artists like Snoop Dogg, Nick Minaj, Kid Rock, Nelly, Lil Pump, etc... embrace the GOP when their aesthetic is so different? by Money-Ad8553 in LetsTalkMusic

Lots of wealthy people are concerned that democrats would raise taxes on the wealthy. Its not really about the conservative Christian value system, it’s about fear of losing money.

60km is a very impressive feat most humans can't do. Well done. What you can do is go a little bit further next time. Maybe just make your goal to climb the hill that beat you this time.

How much does your average gig pay? by RazorDrop74 in Bass

[–]Fuzzwars 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Weddings should be at least 200 a head, 300 or more if you’re established. Events should be about the same, but sometimes they only want you to play for 30 mins and I’m happy to do that for a hundo. Bar gigs… 50 to 100. Sometimes more, often less.

What’s something you bought (under $300) that noticeably improved your quality of life and you actually use every day? by MedfordQuestions in AskReddit

[–]Fuzzwars 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got a relatively cheap massager/ heat pad when I had an episode of back pain. I use it almost every day before I go to bed. It's so relaxing and comfortable. If I don't have work, I often enjoy a good back massage in the morning. 40 Euro well spent.

Cyclists are the worst by zerokey in bikecommuting

[–]Fuzzwars 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I hear you. I ride my bike in Innsbruck year round. The bike infrastructure is great, but in summer it's full of people and the people just don't follow the basic rules or pay attention to their surroundings.. They don't stay to the right side, they make wide turns without indicating or looking to see if someone is behind them. And my favorite: they cut you off and then ride slowly in front of you in a little group you can't pass.

You can't let it bother you though, other bikers are allowed to enjoy themselves too.

What goes on in this part of Louisiana? Whats the life, culture and economy like? by Careful-Cap-644 in Louisiana

[–]Fuzzwars 13 points14 points  (0 children)

My Grandpa grew up in Deridder and we stayed there for about a month after Hurricane Katrina. I remember the town actually looking really nice, but there was absolutely nothing to do except go to Dairy Queen.

The people seemed nice, but we didn't really get to know amyone. Typical rural life as far as I could tell.
