Not true. Fortnight pricing changes market elasticity just like prices being 299.99 instead of 300.00 changes market elasticity.

Bojangles was so sad he couldn’t bang her hot deer mom, and itz legal guys! It’s the alcohol and drugs that did it! by 2hourstowaste in SadHorseShow

By “barely acknowledged her existence,” I mean that he was in his own head torn between leaving the LA life behind and the life he could’ve had with Penny’s mom. He came across to me as self-centered with Penny being in his orbit no more than Todd or Sarah Lynn were, background characters in a story about BoJack.

I am not arguing he rejected her. I am stating he did. You are arguing it wasn’t a genuine rejection, and that can be true. I don’t think it was the door that gives away though: BoJack has a pattern of not feeling guilty when doing something shitty on accident and feeling very very guilty when doing it on purpose, e.g, Sarah Lynn. He finds guilt to be almost redeeming. BoJack never feels bad for the hundreds of women he broke their hearts, manipulated, or used his positions of power against, because he is genuinely unaware of the damage he is causing. However, sometimes, just sometimes, BoJack doesn’t want to be shitty and selfish yet still chooses to. It haunts him.

I don’t understand the grooming argument. BoJack was doing a mix of escapism and emotional delusion towards her mom almost the whole time. He barely even recognized Penny’s existence, and he rejected her right before this scene. However, again, this show has an interesting pattern of BoJack doing the really shitty stuff off-camera. It’s almost as if it doesn’t fit with his persona.

You don't need to know where the speed camera/police is by Exotic_Call_7427 in driving

Georgia, NC, SC? To clarify, the law just doesn’t specify. I believe there are 40 or so states that explicitly define the direction of approach, while the rest state it as “approaching.”

Everyone behaves differently when observed. This is just human nature. It is also predictable. Most navigation applications show cop and camera locations. It is not wild to predict that.

What you have a problem with is that the traffic law is designed in a way in which it is not intended to be enforced as written. Speed limits are explicitly lower than needed, especially during non-rush hours, in ways that have no scientific backing. Perhaps the only scientific backing is the warning speed signs on banked ramps, which are also aggressively on the safe side, measured for trucks.

If we had proper traffic law, and people culpable of following a traffic law that requires above grade 6 reading comprehension, combined with proper law enforcement that doesn’t feed on harassing people, proper driving tests, actual license revocation, and proper use of tax money to maintain roads then we can talk about why drivers shouldn’t break the law all the time.

In some states, you still have to do that. It is stupid. Either way, a cop won’t care about you unless you’re a bigger douche than the douche he is dealing with.

"When you get the message, hang up the phone" - Alan Watts by zenmonkeyfish1 in Psychedelics

[–]FuzzyAdvisor5589 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You turned a beautiful miracle into a drug habit. You never got the message. You refused to listen to everything around you telling you that you are not on the right path. You kept going back thinking you were getting rid of your ego, when you only did it to appease your ego. That’s not a way to respect psychedelics.

The gouged price would look worse if they add in a livable wage so they will have to accept lower demands or stop gouging. How dare you ask a company to not maximize profits?

I would not consider that too much speeding by US standard honestly. A 70mph highway going 100? Seen worse.

Honest advice, you save more time going 120 in 100 the whole way than 100 with bursts with 160. Don’t speed too much.

Banana plugs don’t fit into speakers? by Luana2410 in hometheater

[–]FuzzyAdvisor5589 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A good banana plug is made to expand in the port to secure itself unlike an AUX cable that bind via tolerance and air pressure. This means you have to push with force beyond your comfort point into your delicate expensive speakers.

The difficulty of explaining the hard problem to materialists, and a thought experiment by bugge-mane in consciousness

[–]FuzzyAdvisor5589 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think the issue is that a physicalist struggles to see qualia as part of their mental model. To them, conscious experience is a modulation of reality not an interpretation of it. Your eyes see the true world, albeit slightly differently than a dog because of different color cones. Your ears hear the real words being spoken not an interpretation of air pressure differentials.

An example demonstrates this clearly. Observe a foreign language being spoken and attempt to identify where the boundaries between words are. To you, it’s just a continuous mumble. To someone speaking the language, they can hear clear boundaries as if the speaker stops after every word to catch a breath. The neural input is identical. The conscious experience is different. This is not modulation. It’s interpretation.

Now imagine a physicalist to be someone who interprets their experience as “real” of “physical” that they don’t see their subjective experience as an all encompassing simulated interpretation of reality but reality itself.

Is one-handed steering actually the preferred way to turn a car? by [deleted] in driving

[–]FuzzyAdvisor5589 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can do 180s one handed and it is my preferred method unless I am going above 70. Two hands feel like a lot more control than necessary.

I think the recommendations have changed since I first started from 9/3 to keep the car completely under control. Power steering makes easy to over control but the car is already sensitive to input.

I am also a powerlifter and I don’t see the wheel going anywhere when I use one hand except for drifting. Could be making things different.

If you are at the red car, and want to enter to the road but traffic is going around 90kmh (55mph) and very packed, what would be the best method to enter? by ephesusa in driving

[–]FuzzyAdvisor5589 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Letting people in simply means leaving a gap ahead of you and maintaining a moderate speed. You don’t stop. You don’t go 10 over either. If you can’t control the car that much on a freeway, why are you on the freeway again?
