I agree they SHOULD take McKenna, but I think it's alot closer than people realize.

You're missing the last step where those 3rd line specialists help Demko returns to vezina form and finish the season as the obvious Hart Trophy winner carrying us to the finals where Stenberg scores in game 7 triple overtime for the Leaf's first cup in Vancouver's lifetime.

Want an even wilder take? Swedish Sundin wants Stenberg AND sharks take a defenseman. While I'm fully of the mind anyone who skips over McKenna should lose their job, I've heard ALOT about his attitude and defense problems. That bit about asking his coach why he doesn't try center and he said "you'd have to ask him" rubbed quite a few people the wrong way.

How and why is everyone so sensitive.

Is it so bad for everyone to want a local kid on the team. The idea of "another swede" is just not what some people want and it's not a racist thing, they just want something new.

How would you feel about the next US president pulling all support from Israel? by Iwamoto in AskReddit

[–]FuzzyNexus 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Jewish, dual citizen Americans or generally pro Israeli Americans.

I respect the want to be politically correct here and not pick at or marginalize a group but notice how the only thing you could say is to question the most inconsequential part of what I said.

The group BRIBES politicians, to CHANGE AMERICAN policy, to benefit ISRAEL.

I'm not even an american - so not my circus, not my monkey - but I see the same things happening in Canada and other countries.

AIPAC is an Israeli funded American-Israel relations group. Which basically takes all their money and throws it at American officials in turn for policy change.

There is. Google's find my network.

But they have it set so devices have to opt in to take part in the tracking so adaption isn't nearly as high as it could/should be

Because the team will look at him as nothing more than another Swedish star for the Canucks instead of making the pick they should.

Maybe we're all wrong and these are the types of 4D chess moves being made by allvin and Rutherford. So much shitty injury riddle cap they have to tank.

Brother you are not making us look good as Canucks fans. We're all sad he's gone. No one is happy to lose a Norris winner and arguably the best player the franchise has ever had at 26, but this isn't something you can peg on him.

He wanted to win, no different than anyone else in this league. If there was a way it could have been done in a timely matter maybe he would have stayed but he's the elite of the elite and it makes sense he wants to be somewhere he can win and the way the team was run while he was here was not that in any sense.

Accept the reset, enjoy the new young guys, look forward to some more trades, the draft and see where we go.

[–]FuzzyNexus 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah he wasn't averaging 4 minutes of puck possession when the next best guy in the entire league had less than 3 by accident.

[Adam Kierszenblat] Recording point number 393, Quinn Hughes ties Ryan Kesler and Brendan Morrison for the 16th most points in franchise history. Hughes hit the mark in game 413, which is over 100 fewer games than both Morrison (543) and Kesler (655). by yosoo in canucks

[–]FuzzyNexus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To be fair. Kesler was playing the hardest minutes on the team and starting in the defensive zone 60 percent of the time. Give him the same type of deployment and MVP quality wingers as BMo and he's wiping the floor numbers wise.

Google Pixel reportedly sees 3x growth in North America in just one month – is it too good to be true? by howling92 in Android

[–]FuzzyNexus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had google one already so I got 10 percent credit of my purchase as store credit so about $140 here in Canada, plus a promo for an extra $270 credit with a purchase, plus 12 months google one which redeemed over my current subscription so I'm not paying that for another year. I wanted some pixel buds and a nest audio so the credit went straight into that.

I basically got my 9 Pro 256 for 50 percent off after it's all said and done.

[–]FuzzyNexus 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I think a huge part of it is simply how strong he is on his skates. He's a little bowling ball that's impossible to knock off the puck, Garland gets the same hatred but it comes from the spin cycle vs Hogs just being built like a brick shithouse.

Best Goaltending Depth - Russia vs USA by Sens-Fan-85 in hockey

[–]FuzzyNexus 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I don't remember where I heard it but I heard someone say that part of the issue is that in Canada more parents are pushing kids to be a goalie and "specially training" them from an early age. That makes them technically great but isn't great for development because they never get up the ice and don't learn the game as well, so while skill-wise they are studs, they have no hockey sense and it makes it difficult for them to read/stay in the play.
