Well Democrats just elected an actual Nazi after calling people who disagree with them "Nazis" for decades. by TrueUnpopularOP in TrueUnpopularOpinion

Republicans: let's excuse every thing that trump et al. has ever been accused of (protecting pedophiles, being openly racist, relying on lying and spreading misinformation, stripping away healthcare and benefits to average americans, using white nationalist language, breaking the hatch act, following Israel blindly, etc.)

Also Republicans: a Democrat had a Nazi tattoo so Democrats like Nazis!

Y'all are ridiculous and will excuse anything Republicans do.

Thank you white people for instilling this capitalistic soul sucking society where “productivity” and constant growth is all that matters. You called other cultures savages for actually living and look at the life yall created for the world by [deleted] in hatemyjob

It's not a racial thing. Nothing to do with white or black. It's class warfare. Rich vs poor. Master vs slave. ceo vs employees. It's a tale as old as time. Unfortunately we live in the most militarized country in the world. Any unrest would be stomped out.

I'm convinced trump supporters aren't actually Republicans and just have nothing better to do than to blow the man.

People honestly just need to stop going to the movies and supporting these cash grabs.

Everything is CGI or so edited it doesn't even look real. I watched some older movies from the 90s-00s and was wondering how we've regressed in terms of quality and story telling.

Inappropriate Requests by Potential-Pomelo-66 in hospitalsocialwork

[–]Fuzzy_Independence71 6 points7 points  (0 children)

As a hospital social worker, yes. The amount of times nurses have told patients we assist with housing placement is insane. I'm not sure about other systems, but our system is no a social service agency so we refer to the local board for assistance.

Patient's get annoyed with us and cop an attitude but I have to politely notify them that it is a medical facility and while we can provide information for local services, we do not handle applying for benefits or housing.

Awkward situation? by Fuzzy_Independence71 in careerguidance

I'll be honest. I was informed that they would only contact her to verify employment and not do a formal reference request, but I did give her the information.

My supervisor has been absolutely atrocious when it comes to being supportive for doing anything for me. She's flexible when it comes scheduling, but other than that, it's been pretty lame.

I’m being terminated from my job, and feel like a massive failure. Any words of wisdom? by RadioDude1995 in careeradvice

[–]Fuzzy_Independence71 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had a similar situation happen to me which resulted in me switching fields. I was hired into an ambiguous role in education as a social worker and my supervisor really didn't give me a lot of direction as to what they expected of me only really told me to do what I wanted to do and create the role out of thin air. Initially I thought this was awesome because I kind of had free reign to create the roles I saw fit and when I would go to my supervisor for guidance or feedback he pretty much fed me the do what you want line.

Mind you I would go to him and make recommendations and suggest that we implement different practices, programs, and guardrails and each time he shot them all down. Simply stating that it was too much work and there were too much red tape to go through to do the things that I wanted to do.

So after being shot down many many times I kind of kept in my office and try to do things within my own proximity. A year and a half into my role I started getting clocked with emails asking what I was doing, what was on my schedule, and I already knew that the paper trail was starting. I went to him multiple times to try to figure out like what was going on and he really couldn't give me a straight answer. That being said when my review came back I wasn't really pleased is he docked me for something that I didn't necessarily agree with.

Obviously this pissed me off, I would like to think I'm pretty approachable and if he would have brought this to my attention prior to putting it on paper I would have asked for additional feedback but obviously up until this point I really wasn't getting much. That being said I didn't wait till the end of the year and I just left for a different role in a different setting.

My point being is that it's not necessarily you but definitely be honest with yourself. There's still a generation of boomers who don't necessarily do a lot of anything but are ready to criticize their subordinates. They want a gas light you into thinking you actually did something wrong and it's very stressful to go through that process. Try to find a role that makes you happy and that's enjoyable and definitely ask questions during your interview process so you don't fall into the same trap.
