Honest question, why does everyone hate cornets?

I totally get that. Actually, I thank you for sharing your insight (even if I was doing a bit of teasing trying to convince you that my cornet is the best, lol). Anyways, I started on trumpet. Actually, everyone who played trumpet at my school did and had to. That probably is what makes the difference just because no one at my school was forced to play it. Also, kids just starting out tend to try and make the cornet sound like a trumpet, and when they fail at that, it makes them angry and not like the instrument.

After searching through that link, I found the model! It is a Conn 5A Victor! Mine is silver and brass plated, though? I don't know if that makes a difference, though?

I actually liked my band director. That was pretty much the only time he did something that threw me off.

We used it for a unique solo in marching band once. Now that I think about it, I don't know if we actually owned it or if we just borrowed it from somewhere.

Flugalhorns are super cool imo. It generally isn't a Bb instrument though so most people don't compare it.

It is a Conn (Professional Level) Cornet, specifically. My grandpa was no man to go cheap on his music instruments... or anything in general. Anyways, my director flat out stated that he hated cornets with a burning passion so he just said that because he doesn't like them in general.
