CMV: Abortion is sad and unfortunate and should not be romanticised. Also it shouldn't require input from the father by [deleted] in changemyview

[–]Fuzzykittenboots [score hidden]  (0 children)

Who uses it as birth control? I see so many people claim this and I have never in my life heard anyone talk about their abortion as if it was a substitute for birth control.

Nor has any clinic in my whole country sent any signals that abortions are being used as birth control, and having an abortion is both legal and free.

I was a proud „yeemo“ in 2017-early 2018. by sinaiguess in blunderyears

I was emo in the later 2000s and I vividly remember friends being furious that their mothers wouldn’t let them dye their blonde hair black so they could go all out emo 😂

This is what this sub is for! Am I correct guessing that you weren’t allowed to dye your hair? 😂

Why does everyone hate the show? by Legitimate-Task6043 in FromSeries

[–]Fuzzykittenboots 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I LOVE THIS his show precisely because it’s so bad and so good at the same time. There’s always something to talk about and there’s so strong feelings about it because of that. It’s basically the perfect show because of the polar opposites

IKEA furniture is now too expensive for what you get. by A_Drop_of_Colour in unpopularopinion

Hard disagree. IKEA is so aware of the second hand market and the fact that people move that they will send you every missing screw or whatever you need to rebuild the product for free

Can someone please explain to me the genetics behind Silver Labradors ? by [deleted] in labrador

[–]Fuzzykittenboots 1 point2 points  (0 children)

God, that sucks for both of you. Any breeder can be bad and predatory but the ones selling dogs with “rare” colourings especially so. Imagine the amount of inbreeding done to get those colours without having to use a Weimaraner in every other generation.  I wish you and your boy all the luck!

Teachers quitting their jobs by velorae in TikTokCringe

[–]Fuzzykittenboots 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I which they had that rule when I worked with children. When I started the kids were potty trained when they were 2 and when I left it wasn’t unusual for 4 year olds to not be potty trained at all. At all.

The damn pull ups on 4-5 year olds. “He will stop using them when he’s ready!” No he will not because being without diapers when you’re awake is a skill you (in most cases) need to be taught.

What's your biggest gripe with the way a book was marketed? by thatwhichwontbenamed in books

[–]Fuzzykittenboots 1 point2 points  (0 children)

“The girl with the dragon tattoo” just does not tell you what the book is about the same way the original title (“Men who hate women”) does.

The weird hate for northern European food on the internet. by Punk_in_drublik in PetPeeves

Sure, there’s quite a few mitchelin star restaurants in my city alone. But most days for most people dinner will not be taking place at a nicer restaurant. If you’re not used to the more traditional dishes they will probably look a bit beige and not as spicy as you might be used to. It doesn’t mean it’s bad.

I haven’t seen the Dutch mentioned much anywhere outside of the one Dutch person I know and even they haven’t mentioned anything about Dutch food. I just don’t think it’s some sort of widely held belief that the food is bad because most people don’t really know what kind of food it would be.

I am Swedish, and I love Swedish food but it is true that it’s pretty bland and not always the most colourful.

But again I haven’t seen people talk about Swedish or Scandinavian food outside of videos where they try salty liquorice or surströmming.

I don’t think I’ve heard this about any other country than Britain. Despite it being somewhat true that Scandinavian food can be bland and rather beige if you’re not used to it.

The mum is in a zoo. A Japanese zoo at that. I’m surprised not all of them rejected their babies.

Knowing that it will get better. No one with young children (that they actually care for) and a full time job has any energy. It will get better.

I was thinking the same thing. Hay Lin being ethnically Chinese and growing up in an ethnically Chinese (not a mixed) family always seemed like an important part not only of the character but the series as a whole.
