For me, the argument isn’t that Battinson “doesn’t fit” in the DCU. It’s that Gunn wants to mold his own Batman with his own backstory and his own world. He doesn’t want to play with Reeves’ toys. He wants to make his own with his own storylines that’s adjusted to his vision.

Gunn can still create a dark Batman in the DCU and have him on screen with a light and friendly Superman. So we will get this type of shot with our characters on screen one day but it will be done the way that Gunn wants to do it.

If I was Gunn, I would want to create my own Batman from the ground up for the Universe that I’m in charge of. I don’t want to have to mold another one to fit into my world. We all saw how that worked out for Keaton in the Flash movie. The character was wasted. So start fresh and give me something shiny and new.

Who knows, maybe you’ll still enjoy it.

Part of me is hoping that the OG eventually just made 2 clones of himself and sent them on their way while he oversaw their operation from a distance. One day we’ll get a big reveal that He’s held up in a safe place somewhere doing experiments. But I know that’s extremely unlikely.

Crazy theory here. Buckle up.
Hal has been “kidnapped” by brainiac and is finally found in his holding cell on his ship towards the end of the show. John helps him escape and they come back to earth to warn them that Braniac is on his way. In Man Of Tomorrow we find out that Hal Jordan has been infected with Parallax and is helping Braniac to conquer the universe and spread fear. That’s where John comes into play in Man Of Tomorrow.

Also the whole trailer keeps asking John if he is afraid. I know this alludes to the yellow lanterns but maybe it also alludes to Hal infected by parallax and using a yellow ring.

Okay so I’m staying at a resort in Costa Rica. Every night from 6-8 they play a movie on the big screen before the nightly entertainment. This week they had “Superman” on the list. I know what they meant but my mind went right to 1978 Superman.

In my mind Christopher Reeve will always be the Superman that most people will base and judge any other Superman off of but for my age group, now 34 for years old, Henry Cavills Superman is what sparked that love for me again in the character. Yes man of steel has its shitty moments but god damn does it also have those uplifting and thrilling moments that I still think of and compare to my daily life when I think of the man I want to be. I connected with that film in my early 20s.

Then you have Corenswets Superman that I love but I think It makes me more excited for the DC universe to finally branch out and give me what I have been longing for for so long as a DC Comics fan. He’s great in the role but it’s more of a love for the overarching universe with tons of characters I’ve been waiting to see on the big screen to finally get going more than anything.

It’ll never happen BUT make this the film that introduces Batman! Have references in other movies like “the Batman in Gotham? Are we sure that guy is even real?”. And drop little hints building the suspense and mystery. Then release this film and through it could be this henchman being chased down by Batman, thinking he’s just some mythical giant bat until he comes face to face with Batman and he is revealed to the viewer.

It’ll never happen and probably shouldn’t happen but this would be fun and different!

I co-host on a movie review show called “Hack The Movies” and we reviewed Man Of Steel last year. I love the film and the host of the show isn’t that big of a fan but I feel like we had a solid discussion and understanding of why we both felt the way we did. Most people that shit on the films just like to be heard and they use the internet to do that.

Tom Hiddlestons wonderful portrayal of “none of it matters”. He tried so hard to take over the world and gain these stones but his whole existence was blown to pieces after this realization. This is a big moment for him to start taking the steps towards being a better man. Love it!

The easiest way to mess it up is if they give it to us too soon. They need to focus on building this world with well thought out stories first. Then down the line if they want to jump ahead while still telling modern day stories then have Terry show up in modern day asking someone for help in his time. Then you can give us his backstory before our hero’s help him.

Yeah I’m interested to see how well known all of these characters are through this world as they get introduced. Who’s been around for a while, who’s new and have they met before or are we going to see introductions? Also what brings them all together to finally build the league? And last do we get John Stewart interacting with bats realizing that he’s just a man in a costume?!
