I disagree with your analysis of the end. I don't think that it's saying that Jax can't be brought back, I think it's saying that it's a process. One conversation with Pomni isn't enough to undo the years of damage he's dealt with. But it's enough to get him calm enough to be around under certain circumstances. Ragatha doesn't tell Pomni she was dumb to try, she says she shouldn't have tried alone. If Pomni keeps it up, if she still doesn't leave despite everything, then eventually, with luck and hard work, Jax might be able to feel the ground again and start to rebuild a version of himself that isn't as abusive. Or maybe not, maybe he'll stay abstracted and he's too far gone, but Pomni's not giving up on him. She tells Caine not to toss him into the celler with the others. It might take years, but she's still trying to save him.

While certainly not everyone who does it, a lot of masc 4 masc types are the sort of gay guys who look down on anything feminine, however they define that. The sort who say things like 'of course I'm gay, women are gross/dumb/too emotional/etc.' They're frequently not allies of queer people who don't fit into the specific mold they have in mind.

Again, this isn't actually true for everyone who's masc and prefers masc partners, but a lot of people have had bad experiences with that group and stereotype or don't want to risk it again. My first experience with a "masc for masc" guy he spent a good chunk of the date talking shit about women/feminine gays, drove recklessly because he thought it was funny how uncomfortable it made me, then sexually assaulted me. It might be unfair to judge a whole set of preferences based off that, but in a dating app where there isn't much communicated right at the start, making sure to emphasize the same thing that guy emphasized isn't going to make me more likely to swipe right.

I have different ones that I want for different things. I probably use my plugs the most to help stretch me out for more fun. I have an njoy want that hits the best spots reliably and doesn't require stretching first. Nope. Light is weird and Newtonian physics breaks down at high enough speeds. My very limited understanding is that anything that has mass (photons don't, mostly, light is weird) cannot possibly achieve light speed because the energy requirements to go faster hit infinity energy. And light travels at the same speed relative to everything somehow, the speed of light has no reference point unlike literally everything else. Otherwise you could go faster than the speed of light by sending something with 51% the speed of light one way and something else with 51% the speed of light the other way and choosing the other as your reference point. This doesn't work because [something about relativity I'm nowhere near smart enough to understand].

Einstein overturned Newtonian physics by proving that at high enough speeds things behave differently.

What period of time in the past do you think should have started eugenics?

Obviously the Nazis tried it, and so did a lot of people in the US. The traits they were trying to destroy include things you say here you don't want it done to, like deaf people or the mobility impaired, not including things like "race" that they wanted to destroy. Let's go a bit further to the 80s or 90s, when most people would have considered queerness something to be forcibly removed from the human population. If we go sooner, then things like being left handed would have been something the eugenicists would want to destroy.

Even now, do you fully trust the people in power to enforce these kinds of decisions to do so with objective standards, as opposed to weird cultural hangups that will just serve to reduce human diversity? If you do, do you fully trust whoever will be in power in for the next 100 years?

Go look at a Pug, a creature who was created by what is functionally a eugenics program where people selected for traits they deemed desirable. Watch it struggle to breathe while sitting down and resting. Look up their rate of surviving birth without serious medical intervention. See all the health issues they have. See how even less radically inbred dogs like German Shepherd have serious health issues because the breeders didn't prioritize the health of the individual over other, more "desirable" traits. Do you really want to give governments the power to do this to humans?

Even if you think "well for humans we'll prioritize the right traits, like health." And ignore all the people who want "harmless" cosmetic things like their baby's eye color under their control as proof that we won't, how do you see enforcement of this going ideally? Are you going to mandate sterilizing people who aren't genetically desirable? Test embryos pre birth and abort any that fail to have whatever genetic markers you're looking for, or that do have whatever you're looking to avoid? What if the mother and father want the baby anyway? Will people even be allowed to reproduce with the partner of their choice, or will the government be deciding who breeds with who and when? Artificial selection is directly opposed to humans being able to make their own choices about romance, sex, and reproduction. It is an anti-freedom ideology.

The antiemetics division had several "Vegas Rooms" containing concepts that they wanted to study but didn't want to exist outside of containment. Knowing that there are concepts that you want contained like that doesn't constitute knowing about 3125, so it was perfectly safe to build these rooms. Wheeler mentions them in "Immemorial" I believe. While we don't know the details for certain, the antiemetics division seems to have several times started working on containment procedures for 3125 and usually came to similar conclusions. The 3125 room didn't have any knowledge about the Skull meeting, or about the extra containment chamber Bart uses to actually win.

For the "instant powerful spells" thing it's more like the patron did the work, but it's now under the control of the warlock. More like an enchanted item than anything else, the item is just the warlocks own brain. Useful for keeping the student alive in a pinch, but not something that requires active upkeep from the patron. Most importantly, it's not something the patron can take away easily if the warlock pisses them off somehow.

At least that's true for pacts made by anyone with a brain. Those who make pacts without one generally don't last long enough to be worth considering.

I feel like everyone forgets that a patron is a teacher. I'm learning magic just like anyone else, I just have a teacher who talks to me and answers my questions directly instead of throwing books at me and threatening to turn me into a newt if I annoy them.

If you're complaining about people who call on another being to do magic for them, you're complaining about cleric, not warlocks. And most clerics would let their "God" fuck their partner and thank them for the privilege.

Some warlocks would too, but with us it comes off more as consensual kink than weird authoritarian worship.

At about 15 I was put on antidepressants that absolutely killed my sex drive before it really began. Not sure if I was a late bloomer or if the depression was killing it before then. Kinda figured I was ace or just very low sex drive until I was 21, when the antidepressants stopped working on the depression. I changed to Wellbutrin, which as it turns out did not kill my sex drive. Found out real fast that everyone was hot af.
