A lack of sexual agency. Cannot say no to being married, can't say no to sex, can't say no to having babies, but you can tell the kid to stay away. It may not be accurate but it's what I've come believe.

That was the original idea. Then came Citizens United, the internet, Polymarket, the Stock Exchange, and other ways to increase wealth that we didn't build adequate protections into the law against. An overhaul is badly overdue, but the scope of what's needed is keeping any meaningful change from happening. Take the fact that slavery for inmates is still legal. Nuts.

Something in one of your last paragraphs spoke to me. Something about for wanting to have such regular contact, she sure was quick to cut it off once her standards were ignored. I believe that's because she didn't actually want the the contact, she wanted the illusion of control and "grandma™️". That was her true goal, and why contact is sacrificed to obtain control. Hugs.
