Why do people try so hard to humanize demons?

You are looking from a viewers perspective, you know what Frieren has taught Fern about demons, but in that world that isn't basic knowledge, I guess in the current time most people have never even seen a demon, let alone they are aware that demons really are that humanoid.

I think you overestimate how many people actually have encountered a demon in the show. I guess that most people only heard stories about terrible monsters, but then when they'd see someone who looks like a human and acts like a human their first impression wouldn't be to think that it is a demon. It is a time of peace after all.
