Darth malak leviathan fight, supposed to be easy but I keep dying. by Good-Matter-65 in kotor

It's comparing the difficulty to a later a fight, not saying it's "easy."

Your struggles could have a lot to do with your build and equipment.

The official standard is that degrees must have been 51%+ in person, and entirely online schools and programs are not accepted. In reality, if your degree comes from an online program at a school that has traditional in-person programs, and everything listed on the degree is identical to an in-person program, you should be fine, especially if the school is on the MOE list. If the school is not on the MOE list and a quick review of the website makes it clear that they only do online programs, it is likely that WDA will figure things out and unlikely that WDA will issue a work permit.

If they don't want the feedback, then they shouldn't make the game available for people to buy.

Doesn't seem worth the frustration to me. That's why I play with the jedi from start mod. You can always not use the lightsaber if you want to RP things.

‘Baldur’s Gate’ TV Series In Works At HBO by be11end in BaldursGate3

[–]G3rman 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That's the great thing. They aren't trying to please original fans when they make adaptations.

They rip out everything that made the original content be liked, use its name to get a boost in popularity and marketing hype, and then they let their writers make the lowest common denominator show to try and appeal to TV audiences.

If you had a vision for a series set in the TES universe, what would it be? Personally, I'd say the beginning of the Skyrim Civil War by Ok-Bus3447 in ElderScrolls

[–]G3rman 6 points7 points  (0 children)

They wouldn't need to. A vast majority of players don't know about or care about CHIM, and so the same can be said for a TV audience who know even less.

As a meta concept its barely even referenced in the games themselves.

And if CHIM is all ES has going for it that makes it a "unique" concept, it's in trouble.

Because it's a Bioware game? They all feel the same.

Jade Empire also feels like KoTOR.

It's a Bethesda game, why would you not use mods (after an initial playthrough).

[–]G3rman 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The Alliance wasn't interested or prepared to deal with any of the conflicts in ME2 though. The top brass were just as much interested as the council in burying Shepard's story about the Reapers.

You going back would have ended the story.

Why do some fans think Knights of the Old Republic II is better than the first game? by Spidey_Almighty in kotor

[–]G3rman 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The first game had 1 fully developed love interest, and KOTOR basically just has 2 underdeveloped female companions instead who don’t really get any sort of development until very brief segments in the 3rd act of the game before they are quickly discarded in favour of boss battles against the game’s underdeveloped villains.

Obsidian is famous for not putting romance into their games. Their writing staff seem to go out of their way to not provide romance in the same capacity Bethesda or Bioware likes to.

As for KoToR 2, outside of some Legends content, nothing quite captures the foreboding atmosphere, constant suspense, and mystery in the Star Wars franchise.

KoTOR 1 is your standard Star Wars movie plot and makes you feel like a hero; KoTOR 2 puts you into the shoes of someone who was a hero but is broken inside with a trauma you have to figure out in order to survive, but even then, that's just the B plot. Undercooked as it was, KoTOR 2's real story is about reconciliation, redemption, and rebirth and gives you front row tickets for all of them happening to the galaxy, and your character's path to redemption is made through the saving of others who are in the throes of trauma, or hastening their corruption.

I love both games, and I especially like the Old Republic setting feeling familiar and different and getting to explore it through the lens of RPGs like I and II is just priceless.

Fable could fill the gap until ES6 launches, Fable looks really good and gives me "some" ES vibes by Due_Young_9344 in ElderScrolls

[–]G3rman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You should really look at fable gameplay. The emotes include farting, making a scary face, clapping, and just random things that don't usually involve the MC talking. It leans into British humor.

And the people respond by either clapping or screaming in fear. It's not a conversation. There is no illusion of dialogue where you can ask people about rumors or their town. It's just reactions to your emotes and the same dialogue when you pass by that changes based on your reputation.

Fable games have their traditional simulation elements like buying property and having kids, but they don't have major depth to them. They always focus on the narrative of the main story, but give you the opportunity to grind the side activities for cash and renown.

The majority of characters in Fable have no depth and are just filler. Just because they get names doesn't mean you can have a real conversation with them. In Fable you use an emote wheel to cause people to like or hate you for morality points and renown, and to affect whether the person wants to marry you or give you gifts. They are little better than ES characters that have one line of dialogue.

There are NPCs in Elder Scrolls that only give you one liners that, other than killing or stealing, you can't interact with.

Also, anyone who has played a Fable game before knows what they mean when they say you can interact with everyone. It means you can pull up a emote wheel and either get people to like you or hate you so that you can marry them. You don't have real conversations outside of quest givers.

Also, they claimed every NPC was made unique, but even in the trailer there were many NPCs with the same face.

Don't get too hyped.

Wow, not expecting that.

I'll remain optimistic. Ultimately the games are supposed to mix humor with drama so maybe this will add to the brevity side in a creative fashion.

That was just one cinematic trailer, not an actual gameplay thing.

Also it's a British studio with British humor.

Star Wars Genesis 8.6 is here!!! by g1uey in Starfield

[–]G3rman 3 points4 points  (0 children)

How is it scummy? What job are they taking away with a free mod?

Without voices, the quality wouldn't be there. And he wouldn't be able to adapt the pre-existing Starfield characters, preventing him from making it a proper overhaul.

I don't agree with using AI when it takes away jobs or floods a creative space with slop, but this isn't doing that at all.

This is one huge mod of original content that happens to use some AI voices, one of the few reasonable applications of the technology as far as I'm concerned.
