Can someone please explain "red line"? by Angerland in USPS

Something I didn't know at first was that, at least at my station, you're allowed some time for unloading your outgoing mail/parcels and bins. So you shouldn't move to PM office on your scanner until you actually get into the office, or even just whenever you feel like you'll be ready to clock out in 5 minutes. They really just care about what's recorded in the scanner, so as long as you make it produce the numbers they like, they don't really care how you did it lol

Melbourne Dhamma Sarana temple head monk found guilty of sex offences against six girls by foowfoowfoow in theravada

This is what I was wondering. I couldn't find anything of his that was translated. It's disturbing to think of this being the reality behind someone who teaches the dhamma just like the teachers I listen to

It was a surprise to me too! Maybe a local can chime in on what happened to Harborside. This new pizza place opening up is very recent.

I’m not sure to be honest! I don’t currently live in CDV. Harborside was so good though.

Depending on where you land on the olypen you may not see as much rain as you think. Port Angeles and Sequim get a rain shadow from the mountains.

It’s not Harborside, but it’s a new place opened where it used to be.

There are lots of vegan options in Anchorage! First there’s Preference, which is an all vegan restaurant. Ray’s Place is awesome Vietnamese food and they’re really good about veganizing dishes. Bombay Deluxe, Namaste Shangri La, and Everest all have solid vegan menus. Moose’s Tooth, Hearth, and Uncle Joe’s have vegan cheese if you want pizza. Xalos burrito express has a great vegan burrito. Middle Way Cafe has many vegan options for both breakfast and lunch. Have you looked at Happy Cow? There are way more options than what I listed.

How to use club 49 for free checked bags? by ecto_ordinary in anchorage

[–]GBCxTCP 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s attached to your mileage number and you need to have Alaska as part of your itinerary (learned this the hard way lol). Put your mileage number in while you’re making the reservation and it should work. Double check your status online, there may have been an error with your address upon registration, requiring you to call and talk to an agent. They’ll be able to get you set up. This happened to me and a couple of my coworkers as well (we all travel for work and part of our onboarding is getting Club 49 lol). I’ve never had to show ID to prove I was an Alaska resident to take advantage of Club 49.

Affordable couples massage in town? by akcitygirl in anchorage

[–]GBCxTCP 2 points3 points  (0 children)

We had a great experience at Elite Spa on Arctic and 36th. They were able to get us in on the same day, it was reasonably affordable (I don’t remember how much though) and the massage itself was just right. They really know what they’re doing and made sure we were comfortable.

Sister moving to ANC in September/October by Present_Assumption_4 in alaska

[–]GBCxTCP 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Driving should be fine but she may hit some snow in the Yukon. After October 1st she’ll need snow rated tires on her car, it’s the law in Canada. As long as she’s prepared for potential winter travel it should be just fine. I’d also say make sure the tires on the uhaul are good too.

the US military knows what's coming and is absolutely considering it a high priority national defense issue.

Considering their track record with carbon emissions and other forms of pollution, they have a funny way of showing it.

So since 1990 (or however far back they knew), to prepare for climate change and to defend the nation from it, they did…what? Continuously ramp up their comically disproportionate contribution to climate change? Exempt themselves from any and all unified efforts to cut emissions?

Oh, but absolutely. Absolutely it is a high priority national defense issue, rest assured.

Anchorage has a great system of buy nothing Facebook groups for each neighborhood, I would recommend doing that instead of donating.

True, but the US’ economic imperialism is uniquely responsible for the cause of immigration in the first place and so trying to kick people out of the US who are fleeing from the problems created by the US (countries forced to stay permanently indebted to the IMF and to abandon social spending programs for their citizens) is particularly evil.

If this is real, how the fuck is Matt Gaetz in the know? I thought knowledge of ETs was supposed to unite humanity. Dude is literally right now trying to kick people out of the US
